Oooo, i thought of something else.

Would it be possible to make it so that everyone has to put their location in their profile?

This would make it easier to know where everyone is and therefore not having to ask.

That's not the kind of info everyone is comfortable giving out on the net, can't force it.  Should be a way to make it more prominent in the profile though saying filling this in is a good idea

Well if they arn't comfortable giving out that they live in for example Norwich they could just as easily put England or United Kingdom

Most of the time I read all the recent posts that happen.  I almost never go to the home page or other sections of the site.  So I find the side bar Extremely useful!  If there's a new post! BAM! I see it.  NEW picture? BAM! I see it, NEW video BAM! I'm there. Anyone in Chat? BAM! I see em.

As it is video's don't always fit under the video category and I'll miss it because it didn't show up in my favorite spot under the "Recent Videos".  Is there a way to have the recent video section look for video's regardless of where they were put into the forum?  It will be a recent post but there's no way of knowing that it has a video in it.   This could also make the video section obsolete and video's would just be a part of the forum and putting sub groups in the video section wouldn't be needed.  I don't know, maybe you prefer it that way it is, but that's my suggestion.

Also if anything is updated like upcoming events or anything that's not exactly forum related.  I would like to see those recent updates on the side.

Now I have no knowledge of web design or what's possible and coding and all that so if I'm asking for too much just tell me to "relax you talk to much."

I think where you are located can remain private if someone wishes, but it should be mandatory to fill out.  For example, you have to fill out an e-mail address, but you have the option not to make it public.  I think the same should apply to location.  I'm guessing locations are simply left out most of the time because people just want to fill out the form quickly to register - and just leave stuff blank because they can.  IMO, requiring them to actually state that they want to keep their location private will probably result in more locations being listed.

At the top of the site you have.  Home, Forum, Chat... and below that you have Help, Search, Calendar...  Now Gallery, Contacts, Chat and Links are in both of those lists.  Put those lists together maybe and Organize em out some how.

I've done some work into doing this. The Help, Search, Calendar... menu on the forum pages is now gone- and the links within it have been relocated either to the black bar at the top of the website, or the tabs.

People should really be required to say which country they are in.  The UK and USA, particularly the New England area, have many town names in common and it's always a letdown when you find out that someone is actually on the other side of the Atlantic.

again you can't REQUIRE people to give out that information, you can make it more obvious that its a good idea, but it CANNOT be a requirement.

just for a side idea to location....it would be awesome if when you sign up, you can put in a zip code or postal code or something and it would put a little pin on a map showing where you are located, makes it easier for people to find each other and it can show just exactly where bocking is expanding. It sounds really complicated, but it would be a cool feature.

Maybe just a separate information block for "country" would be sufficient.

And mcnarcyx, go check out the member map.  It's at the very top of the page in white text on black.

Thats something else that needs improving.

In my opinion people should have to either put their location in there profile, this can be town or just country if they feel less secure about putting that information on the internet or put themselves on the member map.
Can we make it so that every member has to be placed on the member map?

I think you will limit the number of people willing to register if you require a location. I think country/county/state etc would be ok though. Not sure about requiring an add on the map. I can see why it is a good idea, but not everyone, especially young people, will want anyone to know where they live. So much time is spent teaching young people about being safe on the internet, and making a location compulsary isnt really along the same lines Smiley

What about letting people changing the color of the forum to what they wish. Im getting tired of the blue/white look. Could use some kinda new fresh thing, make it look new and attractive.
