I have contacted them a few times but they are saying that they are having problems registering people as groups. Those of you who want to take part can check that we are still waiting on them to sort their website glicth, at walkforlife.co.uk ! They said however to deter people from giving up on them, once they have sorted the glitch out, the first 100 teams to register will be put into a prize draw. Here is the email i recieved from them. Will let you know as soon as we have any more information.

Thank you for your interest in Crusaid’s Walk for Life!

Firstly, thank you for asking for more information about setting up a team at this year’s Crusaid Walk for Life.

Sorry for the delay

Secondly, we’re really sorry for the delay. Thank you so much for bearing with us while we get the Crusaid Walk for Life website ready to take team registrations.

We’re nearly ready...

You should be able to register your team at www.walkforlife.co.uk towards the end of next week. We’ll update you again as soon as we start taking team registrations. Sorry we can’t give you a definite launch date, but you’ll be the first to know, we promise.

Why’s it taking so long?

Those of you who’ve taken part in Crusaid’s Walk for Life before will know that the website hasn’t always worked as well as it should.

This year, we decided to completely redesign the website, to make it look and work better.

So far, we’ve got it looking great and we’re told it’s very user-friendly. But unfortunately at the moment, as you know, it can only take registrations from individual walkers, not teams.

It’s taking our web designers slightly longer than expected to get the team functionality on the website working perfectly. But they, and we, don’t want to launch the final version of the website until it’s 100% perfect. We think it’s better to take a bit more time and give our supporters something really great.

It’ll be worth the wait, we promise

When the final version of the website’s launched, you’ll be able to create team pages, upload messages to your team members and recruit new team members, amongst other things.

Our thank you for bearing with us

We really appreciate your understanding and patience. And so the first 100 people to register a team for the Crusaid Walk for Life, once we open registrations, will be entered into a prize draw for something a bit special.

Maybe I just won’t bother...

Please don’t say that! The 2008 Crusaid Walk for Life is set to be our best yet. With special celebrity guests, a whole host of on-site entertainment, and freebies for walkers including a t-shirt, goodie bag and medal, it’s going to be a day to remember.

We need you!

Our vision is a world where people living with HIV and AIDS can live with dignity and have a decent quality of life, whatever their circumstances.

With around 70,000 HIV positive people in the UK, and an incredible 22.5 million people living with HIV in Africa, Crusaid is needed now more than ever.

Crusaid simply couldn’t survive without the many amazing people who fundraise for us, and we’re eternally grateful to you all.

And of course Crusaid’s Walk for Life isn’t only about raising money – it’s also about thousands of people coming together to show their support for people living with HIV and AIDS.

So please don’t let a few IT gremlins stop you from taking part in Europe’s biggest fundraising walk for HIV and AIDS. And thank you so much for bearing with us – we’ll be in touch again soon.

The Crusaid Walk for Life Team
