Picked up the bits I need from Halfords today, the tyre I bought was on offer which made it a bit cheaper but in all cost me about £8.

I will post some pics once I have finished.

Awesome, I can't wait to compare them to how I went about doing it.

I'm going to attempt to shoot pictures of my own set tonight.

Post how long it took you to do it, too.

It took me roughly 1.5 hours, including cutting the tire.

They are on at last!
I too used a slightly different method to the guide and that was to cut the wire off from the edge of the tyre, which makes it about 10x easier and the rubber sits better on the hooves.

now where is that camera.......

I was tempted to remove the wire, but when i thought about it, it gave me a nice "Spine" to provide strength when I go about doing really crazy stunts.  I didn't want to comprimise the structural integrity or subject the tire to the forces of torsion and tearing.  It was put there for a reason, in the design of the tire.  I figured i'd leave it there.

Let me know how well they stay put though, and i'll consider it for next time.

Did you tape the ends down first, or just throw a hose clamp over it?  I found that friction tape, made me have to struggle less when clamping down the hose clamp.

Here are some pics

I cut the cable out because it was really difficult to bend and sit correctly.  I did get it on but I took it off again and cut it out.  I think it will probably be okay as there is no stress on those edges.

What do you think?

Wow, StuntMonkeh, they look like they are ready for the worst of conditions!
Why have you made it so the tyre goes quite far up the spring?

I made it up the back to protect the metal from scratches etc.  If they get in the way I will chop them down a bit more.

Yeah the more protection of the springs the better, I guess. The plastic coating of my spring has lots of nicks in it, but at least the spring itself isnt damaged.

I think the main problem was the tyre I used was slightly bigger which is why it was pretty hard.  When I fitted it to the riser I used a cable tie to hold it in place while I put on the metal clip.

I have just been for a 5 min bock in them on rough grass and concrete and they seem okay.

I used a road tread.  Here's what mine look like.

This tread is going to be re-mounted.  See how there's a slight bit of room between the tread and the hoove?

They improve my grip, greatly.  Feels like i have much more solid fly jumpers this way.  Adds a fraction of an inch more surface area too.

Edit:

I just went shopping today, for a much better strap.
Ended up settling on a cargo strap, which i plan cutting the mount off of, with a dremel.

This should give me a little bit of reflective-ness, and some serious strap-down power too.

I plan on cutting the hook off with a dremel, after i get out of class tonight.

The rubber pad on the bottom of the Powerisers/Flyjumpers wears out pretty quick on concrete so the tyre 'sock' idea is to wear cheap rubber tyre instead of buying a whole new lower arm if the original wears and splits.  The idea comes from the 'how to' guide on Bill's website.

I have used a small BMX tyre for mine bit it likes like road tyres work just as well.  I must admit I bock on a grass field quite often so the extra grip is handy.
