Ummm, where do I start?

- I've been doing pretty much everything you mention w/o 'risers for years now.  Front/back/inward/reverse flips on ground, flips with twists, double flips off higher objects, etc., etc..  I've done 3 1/2s in every direction and 1 1/2s with 3 1/2 twists into water.  I've even done a front 4 1/2 and front 1 1/2 with 4 twists a couple of times.  I've done quite a bit more insane stuff than anything I've seen on the site you posted.  So what's your point?

- That being said, I have a set of 'risers and I'm sure in time I'll be incorporating a lot of my "non-'riser" experience to find new creative tricks and whatnot.  It just takes time, since this is a relatively new thing.

- If you give a set of 'risers to a "REAL PIONEER" they're not going to wipe the floor with me.  They're going to go through the same learning process as I have before they try anything crazy.  The videos of more insane stuff will come with time, as is the case with any new thing.

- For the record, there are gymnasts who do back triples as part of their floor routine.  Can anyone you know do a back triple on the floor?  It's going to take someone with a substantial gymnastic background to buy a set before we see anything that crazy, although I'd love to see that.

- You can easily hurt yourself on a trampoline.  If you think it's so hard to do so, you're obviously not trying hard enough.

- "a lot" is two words... Wink

That was an interesting post... but I think that we're 'pioneers' in powerbocking, not doing tricks.

It's a sad statement when someone has to put others down in order to try to make themselves feel good.  Too bad his immaturity is spoiling any talent he may have.

B7.

Change the attitude, or you'll quickly learn that you aren't welcome here.

We aren't trying to re-invent the wheel or anything.

Most of us are new to the idea of doing flips, let alone bouncing 3-6 feet into the air.  Not everyone has the luck of being involved in karate, gymnastics, judo, etc, and have stumbled across these as a way to have fun.

That doesn't make us any different from you, aside from the lack of training and time spent.

Get a pair, wipe the floor with us.  You'll quickly find yourself bouncing alone, because it isn't about that.

None of us are competing against each other.  We are however working on ways of improving our equipment, our technique, and our public relations.

I don't believe that I have to say anymore.

This hurts... alot...
Go to www.bilang.com people!
Seriously! People do stuff ten times as crazy as your oooo so daring backflips without using powerisers!
I myself can do backflips on the ground using feet only!
and trampoilen dont count AT ALL!!! All you gotta do is be daring enough to try stuff and you'll learn it eventually, cause it's almost impossible to get hurt on a trampoline... Try doing that stuff without your safety gear and your powerisers and your trampolines and you'll see what I mean... And TRUST ME on this one:
There's not a SINGLE BLOODY thing you can do on powerisers that has not already been done without them! And ALL of those tricks already have names...
Try doing a boxcutter with powerizers... hah... Try figuring out what a boxcutter is...
Now don't get me wrong here, it's probably great fun and all! and I'm not dissing you for having fun... But EVERY SINGLE PIECE of poweriser clips I've seen is so pathetically amaeteur compared to real trickzting that it's offensive when someone goes: We're pioneers!
You're not pioneers!
You're normal people with cool toys! that's it!
Give the same toys to the REAL pioneers and they'll wipe the floor with you...

Go and lie down for a while.

Hi All,

I dont see where this hostility has come from. Lets take a second to re-read the thread, shall we?

This started out innocently enough with a decent question from StuntMonkeh. I think the first misjudgement was that the term "pioneer" was misconstrued but other readers.

Thats when Bilangfan came in with a "holier than thou" statement. For the record I've seen Bilang stuff for years and I've always been very impressed with it as I do Karate. I've often said "It'd be so cool to be able to do that" so my hats off to Aikido and other M/A.

Chronicbarbarian then politely corrects Bilangfan regarding the term of pioneer and highlighting that its for Powerising, not gymnastics.
Being a "REAL Pioneer" as you are, what moves have you contributed to your martial art? I'm sure that the masters throughout the ages have performed every move and combo possible - but I'm sure you're putting them to shame by offering new tricks?

I beleive we're done here. He hasnt been back since so I think this thread could be locked?
