Anyone tried Gorilla Tape?  It's a lot like duct tape, but much stickier, stiffer, stronger, abrasion-resistant, thicker, and more expensive (about 2.5X the price of the good silver stuff).  I'd do it, but then I'd have to go out and buy more orange colored tape to redecorate my springs after the addition.  I'm all outta orange...

Im no sure on gorilla tape but if it is abrasion resistant, i dont think it would protect against gashes which are the biggest problem, the yellow coverings protect agains most abrasions if it gets thru your tape or whatever. Try it people.....

gorilla tape does the job, its basically the same as gaffer tape, but it's so expensive that its cheaper to use hockey tape which has about the same effectiveness

Bought some tape from the place below. 3 coloured rolls with 45m on each. Comes in handy for other stuff too.
http://www.apetape.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=cloth-tape-25mm&sid=72at394t4118cb1zu4ga9jd9ye44g2y6

I have just finished tubing and taping the kids ProJumps (with the help of the wife).
They came with a thin pink sheath wrapped around the spring. It offers very little protection, and easily gets messed up.
As suggested in this thread, i split an inner tube and wrapped it around the spring. After taping in place, we then wrapped a layer of white cloth tape along its length, and then added a further layer of black cloth tape on top of that. Hopefully that should be sufficient protection for now?

The poweriSers already have a thin wrap along the length, and a thicker tube like wrap on top of that. I will just add 3 layers of different coloured tape to these. That way i will know how far any damage has penetrated.

The kids' springs are probably better-protected than the kids are.  3 layers of tape on your springs is sufficient.  Have fun!

I went the inner tube, cloth tape, electrical(decorative) tape route. Those 3 layers are fine, it doesnt break the cloth tape though, atleast i haven't seen it go through.

before you taped the springs did you remove the plastic protective cover, if you did how did you get it of without damaging the spring or did you wait till the plastic was broken enough to tear of?

You don't take the plastic covering off you just add the tape ontop of it, the plastic covering is added protection so taking it off would be a step in the wrong direction

fabric tape works best though, wel thats what it says it is, but i reckon it's just extra tough hockey tape...and i've run out lol but oh well got T-rexes now, so dont really need it:P

Well I have heard that I should use hockey tape then put electric tape on over it. I was wondering, should I put the electric tape on vertically, then put my design on? My design will be the colors of the USA flag colors (red, white, and blue). I am going to use all three colors of tape.
