My (right I think) poweriser has been squeaking for some time (sometimes when I just walk, sometimes when I run) and I'm a little to scared to take them apart, unless it's just one hinge or something that needs to be taken apart. I know we have some WD-40 around the house. I was just wondering, what is it that would be squeaking? Or would it be the metal bar below the footplates joints? Aand lastly; would I need to take that apart to WD-40 it, or could I just do it without taking anything off?

You can WD-40 them without taking them apart, but it's better to do so just to make sure you get into all the spaces.
They're not that hard to take apart or put back together, just lay the bits out in the order they go together.

Any of the moving parts can cause squeaks so just lubricate them all Smiley

hi, it's a common thing that happens , so don't worry but i would use a spary that leaves a teflon or ptfe coating , as wd40 is not a lube spray.

hope this helps.

I found WD-40 did not fix my original "honking".  I then resorted to a lubricant that contained graphite, and that stopped the honk.

WD-40 is a degreaser/solvent not a lubricant, to kill the squeaking long term you need to take them apart(its not hard) and put some silicon/graphite/grease/lubricant on the bushings.

Hmm, well, I suppose until I get any of those, I'll just stick to WD-40 for the time being. Thanks. Cheesy

What i did is had someone feel for vibrations when the springs were slightly compressed, light bounce but not actually jumping. And you lube the place you feel vibrations

That has happened to my right stilt. It would squek when I stepped on it and it bugged me a lot. But it stopped after I kept jumping on it for a few days.

WB40 is at best a temp fix. It drys out v quick. But it should help u locate and isolate the problem/squeak.  Then find a better lubrcant and apply
