Hi, I'm just posting with concerns for one of my springs. I have PoweriSer Pro 2008 7090.

My weight is around 13.5 stone. I have had them for a week, been on them for three to four days, about an hour at a time. I have fell over once from springing at distances at which I wasn't ready for, but I fell over on to my knees anyhow.

Here's the damage.

Sorry for the bad quality image.

So is this bad? Or is it normal?

Thanks
Cullie

Can't really see in that picture but it should be fine unless there is a visible crack in the spring.

To me it just looks like you have nicked the outside covering, to protect them i suggest wrapping an old bike innner tube around the springs and then taping over them with electrical tape.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say the outside covering, I assume you mean the black rubber? The murky-green spring has a bit of a scrape to it, and I can see inside it. I will upload a better image.

you might have damaged it.. but you cant do anything about it now except Tape over the spring to protect it in the future or use other means of protection.

yeah, it may be damaged, but as kiola said, there's nothing you can do about it, just tape them up so they don't get damaged in the future, and its not very big so its not likely to be a problem, but you said they're new so you've got a lot of warranty time left if they break.

I got them from Street Gadgets. Do they do a warranty? I have no idea how it works.

it should, email them, but the damage you have done is not enough for a warranty claim, but if they break they'll let you know what's covered and for how long.

You know it amazes me why some spring brands don't actually have a little leaflet in the box when you buy, advising people to tape the springs. If you were a newbie and not a forum memeber why the hell should you think you have to tape the spring? Basically if you damage the fibreglass on the surface with a nick or deep scratch you create a weak spot that will eventually turn into a crack.

When Boeck designed his fibreglass jumping springs he realised this which is why on the Powerskip there is a very thick durabal wrap that is at least 10 times thicker than the thin pipe shrink wrap on most other brands or wooly sock on others. To me decent protection of the spring is one of the most fundamental and important parts of a jump stilt. But Hey hoo maybe i'm wrong, i'm stepping down from my soap box again.. Cheesy

your right, i just got my first pair and if it was'nt for this forum i would have never thought of putting tape round the spring when the protective plastic breaks and if something was to happen to the spring, the company probably wouldnt replace it because they would say it was down to wear and tear. something as important as the spring and as expensive as the powerisers should come with some info.
