Inspired by this video I decided to try some spining tricks.  I could do 180's and 360's easily, but i can do a 540 without bocks, so I'd like to try to top that, I also experimented with combining other tricks with a spin so i did a "giant leap"(one leg forward one leg back) 180, and tried some grabs that i used to do on my inline skates. It all worked quite well and i especially think the giant leap 180 looks really cool.

Had anyone else tried to do spins or spinning tricks?  I'd like to be able to do at least 540's cause i can do that on the ground, but with bigger bounce a 720 or more should be possible.  Thoughts? comment?

One concern might be the torque that the riser legs will have to endure upon landing and stopping your fast spinning action.  I'd be afraid the riser legs might twist a little upon landing and get slightly bent.

Just a gut feeling.  Not based on any experience.

That's a good point bill i hadn't thought about that.  I'm not really worried about it, as the risers can get torqued if you have a bad jump but anything's possible, so I'll continue to experiment and see what happens

Hmm... Just be careful of rolling falls.  I can't picture that the risers wouldn't be able to handle the excessive torque, but your body might not be able to take it when you fall you could easily get tangled or twisted.  Take precaution!

Good point dom, its definately worth mentioning to anyone attempting spins should be aware of the added danger if you mess up.  I'm used to falling from spins from inline skateing, so I have a good idea of what to expect.  The thing I'd be most conderned about is if one of your risers hit your shin on your other leg, you could get cut easily.  I haven't done more than a 360 yet, I'm working on improving my hieght to get to bigger spins.

I taught myself to do a mute grab 360 today, I think it looks pretty cool.  I'll try to get some video soon with that and my other spin tricks.  I still haven't managed to get past a 360, its probably a mental wall that my mind isn't comfortable letting me cross yet, so will time I'll work on 540s and beyond.  I know they're should be a physical limit as to what i can crank out.  I know on a trampoline I can barely get more than a 540 because the time in contact with the mat is so little that i can't wind up enough, so that might happen with risers too.

Nice pictures. That looks like fun... have you tried jumping off a higher object down to a lower one for that extra height? just a suggestion... you could jump from a curb onto the street.. for like an extra 2 inches which would give u like .1 seconds more time to spin...(haha)

i don't have powerisers so i'm just guessing... just tryin to be active in the forums

Suggestions are what the community is for, improving eveybody's skills.  I've jumped off some small staircases, 5 stairs is the biggest i've done, and i've only been jumping one footed of the top instead of kanga jumping off.  Sill not comfortable jumping that high.  When i was jumping those i was easliy bottoming out the springs, which i can do from flat ground after a few hops so I dunno if it'll give me much more height, but it's always worth a try.

I was back on my stilts today after a 2 week break due to the heat, its finally cooling off.  Landed two new spin tricks.  I did a 360 with a giant leap, see the picture sequence above with another 180 after the split.  And i did a 540 spin.  i had to do a 180 on the jump before to get my momentum going but once i figured that out the 540 was easy.
