I was on my Pro-Jumps on Boxing Day and one of my springs just.....well.....snapped.

They have only seen about 4 hours use in total.

I called Pro-Jump today and the said I should send them pictures, I emailed pics to them, and within an hour I had a reply saying a new spring will be sent tomorrow.

I am very pleased with the service Pro-Jump have given me, but the spring should not have snapped after 4 hours use.

Has anyone else had this problem??
Are Pro-Jumps rubbish?? or did this one just slip through quality control??

I would appreciate your views/experiences.
Thanks

This has happened to other people but I think it is rare. Did you have any damage to the fibre glass spring before this happened.

You've got to put it down to quality control. Undecided

Yeah, always check you gear before you use them, even thou I don't think you would have discovered this. These things happens from time to time. You where just unlucky and got a defect pair from the manufacturer.

Good to hear that they gave you new springs:D

Yikes! I dont think its projump related but its still scares the stinky brown stuff out of me.

It's obviously a defect spring if after only 4 hours. I would have thought a stress fracture or something as I'd imagine they'd normall snap in the centre of the arc.
(not to say snapping is "normal") Smiley

You mean if they will snap after a long time use?
Maybe, but you would have to use them that long because before they do. But the most probable thing is they will be so soft in the end that they won't be able to hold you up and you will be sinking to the ground instead.

I reckon eventually they will yeah. General wear and tear, the springs coping with different strains in different temperatures etc.

looks just like my broken spring @ 6 months ago.  i had only put 5 minutes on the springs and only hopping around in my driveway.  there was a factory defect most likely hidden by the protective cover.  see the picture here:

It's great that you two are sharing this with us:D

These two topics(this one and chucks above) must be highlighted in some way, since the touches a very important topic. Is it possible to do that Matt?

not a real big deal but if posted pictures are 600x800 or less the rest of the thread wouldn't  have to be scrolled vertically to be read. Wink

If you modify the spring/tape it up and inner tube it would that void the warranty?

I wouldn't have thought so, Might be worth PM'ing FlyJumper store or one of the other retailers that have an account here and asking.. for future ref..

I cant imagine protecting something would void a warranty..

Oh ok, good point actually, if the spring broke on my pro-jump could I just tell pro-jump.co.uk and they'd send another one without proof of purchase from that site?

No. They'll have records of everyone they've sold to, if you're not on their list, they're not gonna send you the part.
Contact the company that sold them to you, not another that sells the same product.
