Hi Guys,

Just got me a pair of Powerizers off Ebay. Everythings going great, theyre safe and work fine and I've managed to get up to running speed, much to the irritation of my neighbours.

All im wondering is how you guys adjust them yourselves preferably without upgrades.

Ive moved the loop that wraps around the calf downwards which seems to be better. Is there any other adjustable parts ive missed? And how do you have these parts set up?

Thanks a lot,
Andy

You can turn the nuts on the bottom of the support bars (the 2 bars that run from the middle of the upper frame down to the footplate), if you tighten them it'll tip the footplate forwards, loosen them off and it'll tilt it backwards. You can alter that to how you like it if you wish (perhaps tilt the footplate back slightly so you can push down with your heels more when jumping). To do that you'll need a 10mm spanner

If you want the feet bindings tighter switching them onto the second hole along, rather than the one on the end. To do that you'll need a screwdriver to get them off, and also an 8mm spanner to get the upper ones off as they're bolted into place.

All I can say other than that is grab a 13mm spanner and a 10mm spanner (and a 14mm for the big bolt that connects the upper frame to the footplate frame) and check all the bolts are tight Smiley

Where abouts are you?

that's actually a bad place mikey, you want it on the top of your tibia, putting all the pressure on your soft tissue could cause a lot of damage

that spots not horribly bad there on that bump for your knee bar.  Below it.. might be better.....  Thats the same bump that is painful when you have the offical growing pains of Osgood Slaughter.  It is bony process (Tibia Tuberosity / Ligament Patelle' anchor). It is a very solid bone area with some ligament attachments around the bump. This is why the bump is there... a better anchor point for the ligaments etc.

Those in their teens who get OSGS often wear a brace here that pushes that bump inward to releave the tension of it wanting to pull outward from the stress of growing bones and muscle/ligaments being a bit off tune with each other.

Ive been wearing mine at the "Not Here" point cause of a surgical scar that hurts like !@#@$#%^& when you press it agains the bones in the green "HERE" area or at the bump above.  I dont like it though.  I know what could happen. !!!  I plan to lower it now that I have different pads and made my on PIN's.  Maybe Sunday

You can move the knee bar up or down a lil to make it comfy for you. have a look at the 'mods' section. 'Tyre sox' and 'Spring taping' are prob what you need to think about.

Where abouts are you? There is a very good possibility that there are people around you to give you advise.

Wow, thanks alot guys.

Im in Leeds although i havent seen anyone boobing around on them yet.

Didnt realise the footplate tilted, thanks for that. And ill adjust the bar as soon as i get home.

Just one thing though, when the bar would be there i dont think the strap would go tight enough. As I'm a bit of a skinny whippet it always seems to be pretty loose in that area, which was why i put it to the middle of my calf. I thought about cutting a bit off the end of the foam, how do you guys cope with it?

I don't... Calf Cuffs FTW Grin

The best way to sort it out is to use Pinhead straps (make your own from here: http://www.stiltmodz.com/tut1.html) or simply buy some webbing and tie your legs in with that by tying round the kneebar and then behind your legs. There is an online tutorial but I can't seem to find it at the moment, sorry.

I was having that problem too, not going tight enough. Kneepads help, you'll want ones with padding to place in between the knee bar and your leg.

But as for the strap, I added in a second one. I took some nylon straps with a thing at one end for the ends to be fed through. Anyway I taped them to the kneebar using hockey tape.

http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=823C114T&categoryid=5400

I loop it in, tighten it, then i wrap the excess strap around my leg once, feed the end underneath it (like a knot) then pull the end forward and back to make it super tight. Works great, kinda slow though.  Undecided
