The Red Arrows flew rather low right over my house last evening in preparation for landing at our local airport.  Apparently, they are over here on a U.S. tour and had performed for the crowds near the Statue of Liberty earlier in the day.  Pretty cool.

I work in Lincoln England, the red arrows base is about 3 miles away so i get to see them practising often. Heard they were in the US and Canada and performing in NYC

hehe i've had them flypast on their way to another show while i was flying a small trainer...but at the time i was almost crapping myself, as it was like whoosh, and then they were gone, later the pilot i was with told me he'd radiod them and got them and got them to fly closer than usual to see what i did...lol now who else has been that close to them in the air?

...thats cos it's not fitted to you, it's fitted to the pilot, who is in a g-suit at the time, so it's nice and comfy for them

...then attempt to take off and fly like most people who've played MS flight sim, and get hit by the g and crash.

...unless you actually know how to fly, then w00t! 2 people on here that can...though i'm not that good, better at gliding

When I jet-skied at Tattershall the Lancaster bomber would fly low level over our heads. Wheels down so close you could see who was flying it ! It would circle round once coming back over before going to where ever to was off !? I think it was incase it had a problem and had to land quickly ?
We'd seen it do it so many times we ignored it but everyone else would be going "Wow ! " and taking pictures. LOL
