Ferret and Nero, I trust you are both Ok. Ive never had any serious probs bocking myself. But I have had to drive a person to A&E ( and eventually he had to have an Op ) and  have had to drive Joe home after he landed on his head. I take H&S very seriously. Ill joke about a bruise and a bail, behond that I get very concerned --as do Lock and Sprog.

It was only this afternoon that Joe told me of your probs.

The input I made, was on reading this thread title, I had read none of the posts nor listened to Radio bock/sprog.  It was ment to point that 'gayness' like celibacy, left handedness, gender, being tall/short, practical, intelligent, annoying, lovable, untrustworthy and much more are just characteristics of individuals and groups and should not be defining statements. I dont talk of my boss as  a 'tall bastard of a manager'  he is a 'manager who is a tall bastard' equally I konw unitelligent people who just happen to be blond, Im sure you get my drift, please read on:oD.

I do think the 'gay' joke may have reached its sell buy date though. Simpy saying 'its the welsh bockers way' , well can it go on? Is it good enuff? Peeps get told off for using 'txt spk' because many of the users of this site do not have English as a 1st language, others have been told off ( ie me) for refering to projumpforum as 'the other site' cos some people are left confused ( tho Im not aware of complaints when XB was refered to as the 'new site'  but hohum). Why should the 'gay' thing be any different?

So isnt it reasonable to say that many , new and long serving users, will be confused and indeed offended by the use of the word 'gay'.


However, I must comment here. As a homosexual, tho sadly very lapsed ( ie ravng celibate boohoo), I am a lil peeved that peeps automatically assume that being labelled 'gay' is a term of abuse or derision.

So I would suggest --others please comment, whilst the 'welshies  way is noted' for many it is no longer acceptable.

This is a great example. I've met DK twice and not spent a great deal of time with the guy. We do quite often poke fun at DK on radiobock, in the same way we do with Carma, who again I've only met for the briefest of moments. DK can not only take it on the chin but he can come back with an equally offensive comment, made in a friendly way. This is what Q would call banter. I dont make excuses for the "welsh bockers way" since we also call everyone slags (ask ET, Pinhead, Dawesome, Stevie or anyone who has met me). Also despite Sprog spending a lot of time with us, he's not a WB or even welsh.

I've not bothered to play it back but I believe I referred to the name SKY HIGH being a gay name and didnt actually call anyone gay so for you to take it as a personal offense is a rather big over-reaction imho. This was actually a joke towards Adam (nofear) as he first came up with the name sky high with Jono and it was originally going to be the name of the WB display team so for you guys to go throwing all your toys out of the pram over this is just crazy.

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, Radiobock is something we started to bring the bocking community together in other ways than a text based forum. As such, we've made good friendships with people we've never actually met, and I guess these are people with a sense of humour and can see what we're doing with the service.
As such, you've now rather than take it up with me directly you've now taken it public in the hope of gaining some support from other members. Well you know what dick head? It has not worked. All you've done is pissed me off and I'm a person who works his f***ing bollocks off for this sport and you cant even take something like that on the chin. 2) It is funny when someone's injured IF THEY LAUGH/JOKE ABOUT IT FIRST , otherwise its not funny and they are in discomfort. I know I'd be unhappy if I was in pain and people were laughing at me, even in the spirit of Bocking

i no some times radio bock it a bit ott but at the same time locky takes some abuse aswell like just last week me and carl sent in a vidio of me and carl blowing there faces up with a paint ball gun and wrighting things on the photos such as sheep lover on lockys forhed so we all take some abuse at times i dont see why we just cant get along its all in a good laf and i personly think sky high it a funny name because when i used to smoke used being the main word here we used to call it getting sky high because it was funny and i do hope that CB will prosead as usual and that no hard felings will come of this as afterall we are like family so we need to look out for each other rather then turn agenst eachother and i do hope this silly little thing will be sorted out soon

I'd like to point out that I take a LOT of abuse from the Welshies, but from that also other people have joined in. People I haven't met, who I've never spoken to, who I have no idea who they are. And you know what, so what?
It's just an off the cuff remark that means nothing and as you've been in this community 6 months or so, you should realise this. You're familiar with us, how we mess about, and the fact is that's the way it is. It's not changing.

I've been in this sport 2 years now. I remember when the forum consisted of Me, BillC, XS, Chuck, Matt, Lukey, Lux, Zackiz, about 3 others who dissapeared, and a handful of Matt's friends. That was it. And none of this ever occured, and even then people would take the piss out of each other and things, but never was it brought up on the forum, never was it made into a big deal. The fact is by posting it on the forum you've made it much more personal and pissed both matt and myself off.

Matt has worked so hard for the sport, much more than anyone else has, and you guys are just throwing it back in his face simply over a jokey mark. He has every right to cancel event he is organising for YOU, and I stand by him on his decision.

I agree it needs to be used in a way which is never derogatory, and that it might be taken wrongly by new members/members who dont know the welsh bockers.
I also see that it is now part of the language of the Welshies, and has lost all meaning to them, along with 'slag'.

I can see how the Sky High team are upset at Locky's comment on radiobock, but i can also see that to Locky this was not meant as an insult to anyone in anyway (maybe Rancher - but he knows the welshies). Ive listened to the show and I dont see that the welshies were laughing at either Ferret or Nero, more at Rancher for the accidents that happen around him.

Im not taking either side in this arguement, as all the people on both sides are my friends, and I am only posting in the hope that they can end the argument (in private please)

I think, as in the past, arguments need to be conducted in private, not on a public forum. This sort of argument online is not welcoming to new members, parents of children with bocks etc, and shows up what is actually a very friendly and caring community.

ive got a lot of sh** going on in life and htis really is the icing on the cake. when i joined it was a nice place to be, but some people have no idea how to take things in jest.

ok guys/glals/others. i have decided i have got the wrong idea about this comment/ name calling bussiness and have seen and told many times this is locky's way of saying hi how are you and i hear hes used it on more than one occasion. i am going to apologise for any offence i have caused i was in a very bad mood having sitting for about 2 hours in hosptial for someone to hand me a cloth and say yeh its fractured, and when i heard about this team name calling i was a bit annoyed to put it nicely. the capital bocking is still going ahead i dont know why locky cancelled it and i will hopefully still be attending and whish to apologise to locky for anything i have done despite his pretty big 'thing' that happened. i hope this sorts things out and CB IS STILL ON! as i am told by becky lol
