76  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / bocking ancestry?? on: June 19, 2008, 07:42:46 AM
Just googling around, and came across this:
Not sure if it has been seen before, but i found it interesting.
check out the video. Cheesy

http://www.powerboots.com/cnt_en/index_en.html#

Petrol driven pistons... Huh
It does not state which year it is, but i am glad that things have progressed.
Are these really our ancestors?

Anyone else have any historic bock information?

hey kill joy  Grin
That sounds fair enough.  Thanx for explaining.
There does not seem to be much interest in this area yet, anyway.
  See ya Friday.
78  Powerising / Where to Powerise / Re: Organisations: Near Nottingham on: June 18, 2008, 08:15:58 AM
At the moment it is the area of 2 badminton courts/half a basketball court, with 4 large crash mats.

We ought to find out if they have any other equipment of use, like a vaulting horse, some benches and thin mats.

Hey Matt,

You sound as excited as a kid at christmas. Grin I remember that feeling whilst waiting for mine, too. Smiley

Look forward to your journal reports on your progress.
Be sure to add lots of pix and vids please.

Do you have anyone there to bock with yet? I think that makes a difference to how quickly you progress.

Have fun.

Max 5 bockers due to hall size

DI, Is that a restriction set by the sports centre, or the number that you believe will fit OK?

The way i see it (if it is not a sport centre restriction), the more the merrier.
After 5mins bocking, i'll be lent against a wall, catching my breath for 5 mins, before getting up again.
Either that, or forming an orderly queue to flip onto the mats.
Stood about talking, spotting the mat for someone, taking pix.

Just my thoughts.....

81  Powerising / Learning Tips / Re: Left leg wobbley when I run/jump on: June 18, 2008, 06:03:44 AM
bonedaddy,

I had a wobble a few weeks ago that i described as:

What i have become aware of, is that whilst walking/running, after the hoof plants on the floor in front of me, i then feel my knees push outwards before bending and propelling forwards. Kinda bandy legged style and it feels kinda sketchy at times?

If that sound familiar, then the thread below has info on this, from page2 reply #18, to page 5 reply#62.

http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/day_2_using_powerisers-t4492.15.html

From what i can remember,
Worn footwear was changed for new,
spacers added down the side of springs,
Hinge assembly altered,
footplate angle adjusted.

All feels good now.
Plenty of pix in the link above. Hope some of this helps.

The back to back vaulting looks impressive.
How high is the mini ramp you jumped up onto. Surely that's not 4'?? Is it?? You looked well happy with the jump though.
That skatepark looks like a fun place to bock.

Thanx for sharing Athoul.
Now, go get your revision done. Tongue

Very interested in how that loctite glue holds up.

I used evostik impact adhesive on my car tyre hooves.
They did peel back on the toe edge after about 4hrs, so i added the recessed tie wraps to prevent this reoccurring.
Since then, they have been used, hassle/maintenance free, for 20-25hrs, and i am really happy with them.

Cutting up the tyre with an angle grinder involves a bit more effort (as opposed to the tyre sock method), but i think they will far outlast any bike tyre for durability, and i like the cleaner look.

Authol,

Thanx for the encouragement, and the observation on the lack of arm movement. (i had not noticed that).
Any help at this point, will be greatly received mate.

Well, here is a short vid of my best effort at flipping.

http://media.putfile.com/poweriser-flip4

After looking back at in in slow-mo a few times, i reckon i need to jump higher, and stay tucked for a tad longer?

When trying to do flips over the mat, getting the run up was the most difficult thing. I bet for every attempted flip, there were 3 or 4 refusal run ups.
I have an idea in mind to try and address this for next time. More energy spent flipping and less wasted on the run ups, hopefully.

I was trying to approach the jump as i had seen in the tutorial (one step then double footed jump), but after seeing "wobbles" recent flip vid, i am thinking that kanga bouncing into it will be easier to gain more height?

The sports hall has a lightly sprung floor, which took a few minutes to adjust to. Felt weird at first, but got to grips with it eventually.

I will get the vid footage off to DI soon, so he can select what he wants to share.

87  Everything Else / General Talk / video editing? on: June 14, 2008, 10:49:18 PM
We had a gym session yesterday to practice flips.
I would like to show you our progress, for tips and advice.

I have some footage from a camcorder i lent, but it will not edit with the Windows Movie Maker software i usually use??
As the clip is about 45mins long, it would be most boring to sit through it all. I just want to clip the action bits out and put them together.

What software do you guys use for clipping and editing movies?
Would anyone, be willing to share/sell a copy of some decent software please?
PM if you are able to help.
Thanx.

Flippin Fantastic guys (pun intended) Grin

After our 2 man gym session last night, i can relate to the amount of effort you guys have put in.
Excellent work guys. Keep it up.

89  Powerising / UK / Re: Skegness July Meet on: June 13, 2008, 01:15:58 PM
I am off that weekend.
I'll check with the boss if she would like a weekend in Skeg?

Whats the attraction with Tower Gardens? Is there some good bocking apparatus there?
90  Everything Else / General Talk / Re: Is anyone good with a kite? on: June 13, 2008, 01:03:09 PM
So kite bocking is gonna be the future then??

 Grin Grin Grin
I can fly a normal stunt kite.

Lidor1980, i hope you do not mind me using you picture?
If you do, i apologize. PM me and i will delete.
I also copied your car tyre hoof protector, and so far it is excellent. Very durable and great grip (except grass).
Keep posting pix of your stunning moves.
