i got mine at a local ski/snowboard shop, you should be able to fine some near you with google, also this is prolly the best time to get them as shops are just gearing up for the season so they will have tons of extra parts in stock. and its still far enough from the season that they will prolly be discounted.

Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: New Knee mod

To my knowlege I'm the only one using the knee mod above, I love it, it's quick to put on, holds very tight, and i've had no problems with it. It is very simmilar to Dominion's origonal knee mod so people that have used it would most likely have similar experience. I just did this because i didn't like the strange way dom's straps wraped around from the front of the knee bar. I have also notice that when i let my friends try these they do encounter problems if they have very skinny legs because they cannot tighten down as far before they hit the inside of the knee loop. I have very large legs and they work great for me so just be warned of that if you want to try this mod

kramer you asked if bock had a patent on everything like powerskips. i just read the patent and yes he does. you can read it here. It doesn't have the images but from reading it you can tell that basically anything that lets people walk or jump with a leaf spring is covered.

I read someone on the forum put PoweriZer springs on powerisers, and flyjumpers look exactly the same so i'd assume their springs will fit too, and martin said above that he doen't have powerskips, just their springs. They all look like the same mounting method to me so i don't see why the wouldn't fit or you couldn't make them fit with minor adjustments.

Powerising / Practising / Need More Tricks?
|
on: September 01, 2006, 04:03:35 AM

|
I've been bocking for almost 3 months now and i've been preforming at a local art festival for almost that entire time, and last weekend when i was preforming it hit me that I really only have like 4 tricks. split(one leg to each side), spilt(one leg forward the other back), spring grab, 360 spin. I've got one origonal trick i've never seen anyone do, a front/back spilt in the middle of a 360 spin. Has anyone else come up with their own tricks I'd like to increase my trick list. Flips are on the list of things to learn when I have a safe environment to do so, at the moment i don't, so I'm looking for tricks that keep me right side up.

yes Mr. Bock has a patent on stilts that look like these with fiberglass springs. a patent can cover a wide range of products that are similar, A company can't just change one small thing to be different and claim they came up with it on their own. As for a patent on a bike, whoever first inveted a bike prolly did have a patent on it, patents only grant exclucivity for so long, currently 20 years, then people don't have to pay royalties any more. www.uspto.gov for more info on patents. From the USPTO: The right conferred by the patent grant is, in the language of the statute and of the grant itself, “the right to exclude others from making, using, offering for sale, or selling” the invention in the United States or “importing” the invention into the United States. What is granted is not the right to make, use, offer for sale, sell or import, but the right to exclude others from making, using, offering for sale, selling or importing the invention. Once a patent is issued, the patentee must enforce the patent without aid of the USPTO. so even though you're just buying 5 of them and selling them off means you are infringing on their patent. The company you bought them from may have and agreement with bock to have their sellers pay the royalties instead of the factory. but because you just bought 5 they didn't think you were going to sell them so they didn't tell you that. or the company you bougth them from is just selling them illegally all together and Bock is going after them and that's how he got to you. You can email him from www.powerskip.de and set up a royalty payment i read somewhere that its like 3.6% of you're selling price so nothing you couldn't part with if neccissary. on a side note i read you were near boston, i'm going to be moving into college next week just south of boston so we should get together and bock, if you're not busy getting sued or something, good luck!

Thanks martin, that's some really good info, I'd never seen a good comparison between Powerisers and the professional versions so this helps a lot. I think i'm gonna try to get powerskip springs when my current springs wear out. How much do they cost?

if you keep selling them on ebay you're safe, just don't make posts that make it look like you're a company, which you're not, you're buying risers and "deciding you don't want them" so you're selling them on ebay, which is perfectly leagal, even if a retailer can't sell them legally. If you were a company you'd be introuble but if you're just selling them on ebay and stop advertising you'll be fine.
