I think there was someone on the boards in spain who got them, don't remember who they were, it was durring the summer, read around on the forum, or search for spain you might find it and ask him how he got his. That's prolly your best bet.

Read it more carefully, the person posting isn't the creator of the stilts he's just someone posting about a web radio interview with the guy who makes them. the guy being interviewed makes velocity stilts, which are a modified powerskips. If you watch the video on stiltwerks site of the interview with jay leno he says he's redesgining them. to my knowlege the guys at stiltwerks and mr. bock are friends and they have permission to do so. the claim of 30mph is prolly an over exageration by the poster not a claim by velocity stilt makers. He also says he's been making stilts for 4 years, stiltwerks makes a lot of stilts not just velocitys so he prolly has been. read it carefully, he's not taking credit for inventing them

If the nicks are just in the cover over the sprgings your fine, but if you want to be sure and your going there anyway you might as well exchange them, I wouldn't worry about it though unless you can see damage to the fiberglass.

The only problem you're likely to have is you'll have to take your shoe off to get it through the knee bar, but other than that you should be ok. I've got size 12 shoes and it hangs off the front of the foot plate a bit, but it doesn't affect my powerising. One thing you might want to consider is a steel toed shoe because when you fall your toes will be the first thing to hit the ground.

You prolly end up with similar insurance costs to a big skate park. I dunno how much that is but it says that the idea is still most likely commercially viable. However, at least with the current popularity of risers there isn't enough of a market for it, given a few years i bet it could work though. I'm working on my 3d version, sprog's is cool, i'll try to incoportate parts of it i like with some of the later suggestions, and ideas of my own from the designs of big skate parks.

Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Halloween Costume with risers?!

I just came up with a great costume. I'm going to be one of the Knights who say Ni from monty python's holy grail.
As for being stuck if you get tired. If your just walking around you should be fine and at a party they'll be plunty of people to lean of if you need to stand still. not jumping and not havning to constantly move to stand still will extend your endurance significantly this said, the longest i've worn my risers was about 3.5 hours and that was running, jumping, etc... and even without that i don't think i'd want to wear them for much longer than that, but I dunno how long i'll last at the party.

The only way i've heard anyone stop them from sliding is to have some one help you put the socks on, have one person hold the tire on as tight ast they can and have the other do the clip, cause you really can't do it very tight by yourself.

If you're out bocking and you need a weapon to fight them off, you prolly shouldn't be there, just for your own safety. I've never had anyone try to take me out on my risers, even out at busy events, people are curious and want to ask what they are, not tackle me. And if they did, i just wouldn't go back. And if all else fails, remind them that you're wearing baseball bats on your feet.

In the bigger skate parks they have stuff called resi which is a plastic-ish stuff covering foam so if you land a trick on it you still land, but if you fall the floor is full of foam so it doesn't hurt, you could make stairs out of that, so you jump over them and if you don't make it you land on a staircase made of foam. Gimme a few day's and i'll make something up in my 3d modeler, i used to make skate parks in it for fun so this should be similar.
