361  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Painful shin bar and calf strap. HELP? on: August 23, 2008, 06:46:54 PM
I tried the Powerisers again today after having adjusted the calf-cuff bars. Nope, I cannot get on with those at all. Well, let me be honest, the leg wobble problem was no longer a concern but I found that when running my right foot had a tendency to tuck in and would have tripped me up had I continued. I went back and changed back to my Powerizers. Bliss guys, pure bliss!

sounds like you  need to adjust the entire thing left or right to get your leg centered over your foot

the FL cuffs are legit I've seen a pair in action, no clue how the guy who had them got them.  They're almost identical to Poweriser Cuffs, the only visual diff i could see is the padding inside the cuff is sectioned as opposed to a solid piece on the Sers.  The buckle works the same. They've even got the same blue stitching down the edges of the strap.

i pulled out the stock cloth strap and replaced it with the original toe strap from the foot plate.

it worked great for me, but now that i have cuffs I'm never going back.  It will require adjustment on the installation if you have smaller legs, drilling a new hole in the ratchet strap and making it shorter.

also the new system that 7's has works surprisingly well when i tried the prototypes at CB.
they just added a 2nd metal loop that you feed the strap back through and it holds pretty well.  they also added a small pad to the strap so it doesn't dig into your leg as much.  This pad could be bigger for more comfort, but its a step in the right direction.

Did your hoofs leave marks on the carpet of the spring FX etc.?

My hoofs and my tire socks both leave marks on the carpet simular to the wrong type of shoe leaves marks on basket ball courts.  I cant really bounce inside because of this till I find a better source of hoof cover that wont mark up the Floors.

dom had pale poweriser hooves, i had tire socks, neither left discernible marks on the sprung floor carpet

367  Powerising / Injuries / Re: Wristless in KY on: August 21, 2008, 11:19:34 PM
i actually carry 2 sets of pads with my bocks, my big knee pads, and some crappy ones that take 30 seconds to put on, so if i'm doing a quicky demo i wear them instead of taking off my shoes to slide on my big pads.  Doesn't really apply to wrist guards, but its an idea.  Glad to hear you're not letting the injury put you off to bocking, heal quickly and get back on them.

369  Powerising / Problems / Re: Problems with my poweriser 08! on: August 21, 2008, 02:14:44 PM
Failed... Unfortunately the washer I put in was too thick, so therefore when I was bocking it felt stiff. It felt stiff because I believe that that spot is acting like a hinge so when the spring compresses it moves. How to fix the jiggling? I don't know... The bolt seems tight already and it seems to still jiggle...

well you can't fix an out of round hole with a washer, that just doesn't make sense.  Really the only way is to replace the bracket so the hole is the right size.

quality bocking and quality video editing, not something we see on here much, but its cool to see that people are willing to put in the effort into a bocking video to make it look so professionally produced.
371  Powerising / Videos / Re: small hoof grab@.21 then hopping, lol on: August 21, 2008, 01:40:48 PM
to make these easier work on getting another foot or two of air, and then the flexibility of your legs, the farther you can bring your foot up to your hand the easier it is.  I find i can sorta cheat it by bring my legs out to the side as well as up.

Hey... it said I had already rated this topic before I gave it a five-star rating...  Is it because I rated the Youtube video five?  Is it really linked like that?  Or is something glitching?

glitch, they're def not linked
373  Powerising / Practising / Re: Time to flip on: August 20, 2008, 08:59:05 AM
a gymnastics gym or general sports hall will do, as long as they have various mats that you can fall on and not hurt yourself, but basically the idea is to go there or phone them and say "i do this new sport, explain bocking, i'm looking for a place to train with mats so i can learn new moves safely" etc

to answer the original question now that i can flip, it took me 2.5 years of bocking to flip, but over all once i got over the mental block to just go for it it only took me like 6 attempts before i landed my first back.

dominion likes the spring, its a step in the right direction but only about a third of the way to the spring I want.
