hu made the tyre sock first Huh?

i'm guessing you mean who made them first, and that would be Bill C. they're his invention.
3393  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: why are the bindings rubbish? on: February 04, 2007, 06:10:12 PM
those don't look bad, but some one asked if they're plastic or metal ratches and the seller said they're plastic so i'd say keep looking for some metal ones
3394  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: why are the bindings rubbish? on: February 03, 2007, 07:10:48 PM
if its been less than 6 months and you bought them from a reputable dealer you should be able to get them replaced under warranty, check with the company you bought them from, but in that small a time span, things shouldn't be wearing out, prolly manufactureing defects
3395  Powerising / Practising / Re: learn on grass? on: February 03, 2007, 05:38:06 PM
I do tons of spins cause i used to roller blade, get confident doing it on the ground without bocks then take it up, without bocks i can just jump and do a 540 with out thinking about it that's why i have the conficence to try it on bocks.
3396  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: needle bearingk it for bushing replacement on: February 03, 2007, 05:36:48 PM
i'm sure adding shipping to the UK would bring them to almost the same price
3397  Powerising / Practising / Re: learn on grass? on: February 03, 2007, 05:35:18 PM
no the example was 540 on roller blades, i've done a 540 on bocks once, can't seem to get it around again, but haven't tried since summer.

3399  Powerising / Practising / Re: learn on grass? on: February 03, 2007, 05:30:27 PM
if i'm trying something new, i usually try it onto grass(DRY!), you can't get as much bounce from grass so i'll jump off the road towards my lawn off a walk way or something, but landing on grass is softer you don't have pads on your entire body so it helps.  I've used this method to learn 540's on roller blades and it was great, when i tried it for real i landed it first try, it's worked on bocks too.

We got a ton of attention, people said we were the best thing there, we were also advertising powerisers and the site as much as we were for zurich, every other flyer we handed out ended up with powerisers or poweriserpages written on it before we walked away, we also had to run between the main fair and the building where they had a presentation because we didn't get told where it was, so running down a city block, jumping down a few sets of stairs and then climbing about 30 stairs(with a railing just in case), got a lot of attention, and we were outside so we could finally bounce full power, so we took our time on the way back to show off. as for the interest in how much I got paid, lets just say i'll work for zurich any time, and yeah i didn't respond quickly cause you asked at 330am my time, and i just got up about 15 mins ago.

So i just got back from this job, it was tons of fun, I got one of my friends to come along, he's used my risers and zurich provided a pair for him.  Zurich also hired a yodeler/accordion player he was a lot of fun, played us some music to dance to, and tought us how to yodel.  We walked around for 3 hours passing out flyers, took lunch, watched their presentation and did a mini demo at the end, it was indoors so it wasn't much, but we danced to accordion music and that's just hillarious.  here's some pics from the day, if you hadn't figured it out yet we were working for Zurich bank, the one with our favorite comercial.  They gave us hats and jumpsuits with their logo, they let us keep the hats, but unfortunately not the jumpsuits.

Us and the yodeler, i'm in the middle.

My friend carl.

Me giving a good look at the logo on our spiffy jumpsuits.

I moved this topic to the UK meetups board, try to sort these as specifically as possible when posting new meetups in the future, thanks

Thanks, good to hear it straight from a retailer rather than just assuming it.
3404  Powerising / Videos / Re: Dawesome on: February 02, 2007, 11:27:29 PM
the rotation might be easier, but its more dangerous to land sideways like that, puts weird pressure on your knees and ankles, i sprained my ankel on a tramp doinig a sideflip, so be careful with them
3405  Powerising / Videos / Re: Sideflip (mess up) on my risers on: February 02, 2007, 11:21:57 PM
well since were talking about odd things to do on risers i tried to ride a bike once, almost had it, but my seat didn't high enough, also tried to ride a unicycle once, that failed also.  The side flip was nuts Dawesome
