3001  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: padded and taped springs on: April 23, 2007, 02:37:31 PM
protecting the spring from hitting things is more imporant than seeing potential damage coming.  Covering the spring stops a lot of potential damage, so if you can see your spring they're more likely to be damaged than if you can't see them.
3002  Powerising / Problems / Re: How long do they last on: April 23, 2007, 01:42:38 AM
i've had mine just as long as sprog, they're a little rattley but they still bounce, so i'm still bocking.
3003  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Modified Bocks on: April 22, 2007, 10:45:02 PM
stealth bocks, i like it, you can now still stay off the radar when you jump too high.
3004  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: First time..Powerizer Pros? (Few Questions!) on: April 22, 2007, 05:32:42 AM
welcome, I always advise new bockers to avoid poweriZer pro, we've had a good number of people here say that they tried to learn on them and the moving foot plate keeps making them fall so they bolted or strapped it down, so saver yourself $100 and go for the standard model.  As for people getting more air than others, it depends on many things, their wieght vs spring rating has a lot to do with it. We reccomend getting a spring rated for one bracket above your actual wieght, this will give you more air and the spring should last longer.  There is also a significant skill portion, a brand new bocker on the best stilts in the world isn't going to get as high as a pro bocker on crummy stilts.  As for the average joe flipping, with the right practice and patients i think just about anyone can flip if they stick with it and do it safely.  Good luck! and welcome to the wide world of bocking.
3005  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Sox Sliping** on: April 22, 2007, 05:20:21 AM
yeah if the only thing holding them on is tape, they're gonna fall off, hose clamps are the way to go, I use 1 some people say to use 2, not really neccissary.  I think we sort of figured out that they slip less if you leave the wire rim on, but some people seem to have luck with cutting it off.
3006  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: **Spring Protection???? on: April 22, 2007, 02:39:32 AM
yeah once you get yours hold them next to eachother and you'll see
3007  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: **Spring Protection???? on: April 22, 2007, 02:31:51 AM
well you've got 7's so no, there really is no reason for doing this, cause they come with adaquate protection.  It an interesting idea, but i think it'd be very expensive, and the leather would get beat up rather quickly so it wouldn't be pretty for long. And last of all, leather is expensive.
3008  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: Where to buy USA on: April 22, 2007, 01:11:24 AM
Americans should know what's legal .

LOL that's a good one.

no if a US citizen goes to canada and buys a pair, thats fine.  But when a non US company sells stilts to someone inside the US without paying royalties, that is illegal.
3009  Powerising / Videos / Re: FrontFlip on concrete on: April 22, 2007, 12:27:02 AM
what ever downward motion you do with your legs is just canceling out the upward motion you did with them in the first place, you get the most added force by using your arms
3010  Powerising / Videos / Re: FrontFlip on concrete on: April 22, 2007, 12:21:40 AM
no, it won't, learn how physics work and then you'll understand.
3011  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: Skyrunners on: April 22, 2007, 12:13:44 AM
I think you're quite gullable. Skyrunners are illegal in most patent protected countries, i don't think they have royalty agreements to sell anywhere.

how does keeping your legs straigther in the air affect your hieght kiola, as long as you do so when you hit the ground? nice flip jack

thats exactly what i thought, because by lifting your legs you go higher which means more force coming down. As long as you keep them straight when you land then its alright!

It sounds like you have never taken a physics class, lifting your legs won't give you any more force, cause when you straighten you're legs again you lose any added hieght you gained by raising them, it just makes it look like you jumped higer, which is why i do it.
3013  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: Where to buy USA on: April 21, 2007, 10:52:32 PM
if a USA citizen travel in canada,buy a jumping stilts from them,I don't think it's a problem.

If you go to them and buy them thats fine but i think the problem is when they ship it to you over international boarders.
3014  Powerising / Learning Tips / Re: My Stupid Blunder on: April 21, 2007, 03:18:26 AM
yeah i think tundrah's got the right idea, he means don't try to learn to stand still before you can walk, ovbiously you need to beable to stay standing to walk, but that implys nothing of standing still, which experience bockers know is impossible for more than say 30 seconds, if your good at it. So koran has the right idea, and sprog and tfd, read more carefully Tongue

i knew what he was doing too, but it still needed to be said, he's also missing a knee bar/cuff
