Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: S-Rex Type X Spring Review!

so after 2.5 days of beating the crap out of my s-rex's and myself here's what i think.
i was initially impressed by the bulk of the spring, its much thicker than my old 90120's which i hope would translate to more power, and should hopefully translate to longer life. The thick spring protection is always nice, and the yellow is growing on me. The top brackets that came on the spring were bent oddly, so they were swapped out for the ones on my poweriSers. Once i got them installed the lack of a break in period was a pleasant surprise. Jumping was nice and easy right off the bat, but i was able to bottom them out in the first 10 mins. I bottom them out less than my 90120's but i'm not really getting any higher. I'm gonna set up a high jump bar in the next few weeks to compare for sure, but it doesn't feel any higher. I was expecting more from these springs, but with all the hype of extreme air from them coming from people well under the actual weight range it makes sense. So they've got a nice spring here, and if you're under the recommended weight you should be able to get some nice air out of it. But for people of 90 kg and up, this spring will leave you wanting more, but so has everything else i've tried.

back pain is not something to take lightly, if it continues much longer you should def go see a doc and make sure everything is alright, you can explain bocking to them and that people told you it was strenous on your back, but it shouldn't be that bad.

you've run into the same problem that I have, all brands claim to make springs for people up to 120kg/260 lbs, I have now tried the strongest spring made by PoweriSer and 7's and the 2nd strongest PoweriZer spring and i have to say that none of them preform as advertised for heavier bockers. The highest i can get is about 4.5-5 feet on the PoweriSer 90120s or the 7's S-Rex type X. I don't notice a significant difference in height between the 2 PoweriZer M120s would prolly yeild similar results. However, I can flip on these springs so you're not out of luck, you're just not gonna get 6+ ft out of them.

welcome, just drove through CT today. We're gonna start having regular meets in Providence and Boston if you're in the eastern half of the state that's not much of a trip. If you're in the western half talk to dominion and Bill C who are both on long island.

i drove through all of it today, so where ever it is, can't be too far.
i'll wrap up my meet description.
fixed up my stilts saturday night
slept in sunday morning, hopped on a train into NYC around noon, spent the entire afternoon walking around manhattan, tried to find some new bocking spots but ended up finding places under construction, and then took a wrong turn and ended up in placed we'd bocked before. So we hopped on the subway and headed up to central park to do some exploration. Did a bunch of off road bocking, and prolly covered about 4 miles. A long tiring day, but a great one. We hopped the train back to Long Island, threw a big steak on the grill and relaxed.
got up and drove 4 hours home this morning, had a home cooked meal, and then headed back to school, where i will now pass our from exaustion. Great meet.

classics or pro of which brand?
PoweriSer i'd reccomend the 2007/8/Advanced/Pro they have many names now, they've got cuffs and upgraded bindings which make them a lot more comfortable.
7's don't have a classic or pro
anything else is a Flying Locust which are sold under many names and their pro model had pivoting foot plates and have had reliability issues so i'd avoid them the the FL classics are fine though

yeah dom had several dismantled bock for salvaging parts from so they're already back in working order as dom and I are hitting NYC tomorrow. and to finish my story of the day, we decided to call it a day as bill was tired and my bocks were broken. We then go some lunch, and picked up a friend of dom's who told us there was a skate park near buy so we checked it out, definite bocking potential, but too many little kids today, and we realized that my bocks would not be a quick fix as we had hoped. So we headed back here to fix them. Alon the way we were inspired by some serious leaf springs that pulled up next to us at a stop light how'd you like to see this driving up behind you this guy had the right idea, though when i asked he didn't know if it was legal. And yes his tires were taller than dom's car.

well half way done with my weekend bocking extravaganza, here's the story so far.
Friday: Got here(dom's house) at about 8pm yesterday evening. We immediately went to work installing my S-Rex type X springs onto my PoweriSer Advanced frames. They took a little finagling, dom has detailed photos and will be describing the process later. Got them all squared away and went for a test bock around 930, bounced around everything was nice. The best thing i can say about the 7's springs is they're ready to go out of the box, no break in time, which was a pleasant surprise. We came back in cleaned up a bit, grabbed some food and crashed, we had a long day of bocking in the morning.
Saturday: We got up around 9am got ready to go, picked up a new hydration back for dom, 5 gallons of water, and some breakfast. Then we packed up the bocks and hit the road. We were supposed to meet Bill C. around noon at the Jones Beach Boardwalk, so we got there at about 1115 to scope out the terrain and we just wanted to bock. Bounced around found some good walls and steps. Bill arrived shortly after and we took to showing off for the crowds. Got lots of the usual questions, let a few very interested passers by have a go on them. All was great till about the last half hour we were there. Things started to go down hill when a sea gull decided to use my head as a toilet (gross). Cleaned myself up and continued on, but as we were all getting tired, i went to do a few jumps to demonstrate and SNAP. i broke a support bar.
and now i'm being dragged out the door, the rest of the story later.
