Powerising / Problems / Re: Worries over general integrity and durability of 7Meilensteifel Pro Frames

I have spoken directly with Wolfgang about this problem yesterday and Martin is right we will get Bobmans stilts independantly tested. We will not walk away from the problem and i have also spoken with Bobman (Kevin) personally to appologise.
The frame moudings on 7's are very thick and the quality of the alloy and bearings was one of the reason why i decieded to sell the stilts in first place. The diamond holes have absolutely no effect on the moulding strength. I have never replaced a frame moulding part on any stilts i've sold before this.. Its horrible to see something you believe in fail like that so no excuse. All we can do is hold our hands up, solve the problem and look after our customer Bobman..

I'm very concerned to see those pictures i will be contacting Bobman to sort this out immeadiately. Of all the pairs i have sold i have never seen a frame break like this and it must be a faulty moulding. I can only appologise and say that i will replace his T Rex stilts with a new pair. The failure rate where a repair is required has been about 1% for the 7's i've sold so far but i'm really genuinely sorry Bobman.

Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: Powerskips - £60 - 70-90kg

They are Skyrunners illegally imported from China; i expect the Patent Holder to be in contact with this illegal seller first thing on Monday. Selling illegal stilts is one thing but when someone trys to ride off the name of a quality product like Powerskip is another. The worst type of selling in my book that should be stamped out.. Grrrr let me at em.. LOL

Powerising / Problems / Re: Spring damage?
|
on: March 16, 2008, 10:07:51 AM

You know it amazes me why some spring brands don't actually have a little leaflet in the box when you buy, advising people to tape the springs. If you were a newbie and not a forum memeber why the hell should you think you have to tape the spring? Basically if you damage the fibreglass on the surface with a nick or deep scratch you create a weak spot that will eventually turn into a crack. When Boeck designed his fibreglass jumping springs he realised this which is why on the Powerskip there is a very thick durabal wrap that is at least 10 times thicker than the thin pipe shrink wrap on most other brands or wooly sock on others. To me decent protection of the spring is one of the most fundamental and important parts of a jump stilt. But Hey hoo maybe i'm wrong, i'm stepping down from my soap box again..

Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: warning this guy is selling "powerskips"

This seller is probably completely unaware that he is selling cheap illegal copies; and i doubt if they even know what original Powerskips are. There are loads of wholesalers of cheap stilts in China they all conveniently forget to tell customers that what they are buying is completely illegal once they arrive in the UK.. Many people have been caught out by this wrongly thinking they will make millions selling the cheapest jumping stilts in the UK. Importing Powerskips from China, Only ending up with a law suite and loads of worthless stock.
