1  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: Are the Poweriser 07's the same as the Powerisers 2008? on: Today at 06:31:02 PM
All the same, although the newer ones do look a bit different from the older ones.  The newest version of the Poweriser Advanced has better bearings and a slightly different binding block from the older ones.  That's not really worth worrying about, though.
There is no "newer" or "older" version between 2007 and 2008. Yes they have improved the bearings and things, but this is universal across all names, 2008 are not improved over 2007 or vice versa.

2007 is the US Name.
2008 is the UK Name.
That's it. Both are identical.

But today I feel completely broken and I almost can’t lift up my arms. Ohhh man, what is it tiring to help others first steps on stilts over such a long time, like we did yesterday. And there has been some quiet fat and heavy people as well who wanted to try them out. But most of them did in an acceptable way well and I had no one who needed more than 5 minutes until he needed no more helping hand anymore to walk around. But still, I feel like a baked fish on a nail bed.
I felt the same after doing 2 days of workshops at a festival with the welsh bockers Dome, just walking people round on stilts really knackers your back and shoulders, especially if they keep leaning into you because they're too scared to stand up on their own.

mr frank by "the springs" i assume u mean dome's mystery springs.  the kid couldnt have been using them, considering he was on kid stilts, not the full sized ones.
I think he was just making a joke that springs increase your skill, not in any way related to Dome's super springs

I doubt its locked, use the search function...

So if you grab both springs with one hand or one spring with both hands, is that a double or single. Are we referring to number of springs or hands used?
Springs used.
Two hands on one spring is very hard.

Nice progress.

Remember to throw your arms up!
Cheers Ian Smiley
That's the bit I find hardest! Tongue

Saw it on the news this week, it spent 2 days just hanging from the side of a building, thought it was just a sculpture then saw the footage of it walking down the road and it was nuts.

It's an awesome piece of engineering and pulled off really well, cost £1.5m as part of the Capital of Culture event. It weighs 37 tonnes, is 50ft tall, moves at 2pm and the legs move via 50 hydralic axes and 11 operators. Apparently it's a she and is called "La Princesse" Undecided

Wicked pics:

AAAAAAAAND a cool video too Smiley

Ok that sounds awesome, a side shot would be cool as you can't really see it from the front. Well done BBBB Smiley

Now I dare you to do it on bocks Cheesy

You can what a what?

It will be interesting to see how the actual strength of the spring relates to its weight category.  Do two 60kg springs equal one 120kg spring?  Or are they less or more?  Spring strength may not be linear in comparison with the weight they're made for.
I agree with you on that Frank, I dont think two M60s will equal an M120, more around an M90, and also the springs need to be centred perfectly to ensure equal weight distribution between the two.

By basic maths you would think that two of the same weight range equals double that, but having done AS level physics, I'm 90% certain it wouldn't due to it being an exponential increase as a spring. I would imagine leaf springs are the same as normal springs, a spring twice the size doesn't necessarily mean twice the power, as the increase is exponential, not linear.

Likes nice but could end in tears  Undecided
Swebounce are so awesome they can't cry. They don't have tear ducts. Grin
You gotta remember Micke tore every ligament in his right knee, and was told he wouldn't walk for 2 years. A year later and he was already backflipping on bocks again. Nothing stops them Tongue

Welcome back Mantis, nice to see you around again Smiley
14  Powerising / Injuries / Re: first legit fall on: Yesterday at 11:45:48 AM
What's a "double spring grab" (or a single one)?
Single

Double

Quite simply, you jump, pull your legs back and grab the spring(s)
15  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Fusion~DNA-EVOLUTION on: Yesterday at 01:16:40 AM
DK, why build the next generation of fusions when you have yet to prove that the previous ones worked other than for walking?
