1  Powerising / Injuries / Re: BROKEN ELBOW on: April 18, 2008, 11:32:16 PM
My first fall was due to the exact same thing Splat. My body just getting too in front of my feet. By the sounds of things I got off lightly. Merely bruised the muscle in my elbow. Still couldn't bock for a few weeks.

Hope you heal fast :-)

Spring grabs because I'm not really good at anything else yet.
Ditto :-)

So do I need to register as a single walker or will I just go in as part of the team?

Heh, my girlf woke me up this morning telling me bocks were on the news. I thought she was just saying anything to get me out of bed!

Just about everyone I saw today while I was out bouncing told me about the report so it's certainly got the word out to a simply massive audience Smiley

Yep Siph  it was a lil tuff. It was about the only Sunday all summer that reaced 70 degrees. And this stilts are not light, but you felt you had really done somat by the end ( but this year Im gonna try and book the Mondayoff after Grin)
Sounds like a good plan. Along with about a month's worth pf stamina training beforehand, I think I'll have a word in my bosses shell-like about off time :-)

My girlf doesn't sound keen on joining us but I'm all over this one, fo shizzle.

Thank you everyone. To the gardening centre!!
7  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Bocks for short people on: March 04, 2008, 12:28:24 PM
Hi all. My girlf has real trouble bocking as she's fairly short and the tops of the springs bash into the back of her legs when she runs. Getting up after a fall is out of the question.

I've seen mention of solutions to this problem and have padded the top of the springs already. Now I'm looking to add some wood to 'raise' the footplate. Knowing that other people must have done this already, I'd like to know what woods or other materials you tried. Weight is my main concern.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies Smiley

Sounds like it could be a laugh bundled with immense physical torture. So long as I can secure the time off of work, count me in!
9  Everything Else / General Talk / Re: Lets have a Earthquake on: February 27, 2008, 08:23:16 AM
Measured 5.3, so I heard. The epicentre was in Market Rasen but felt all over the uk. Even someone in Amsterdam has reported feeling the quake.

I didn't feel a thing. Didn't expect to really. I'm a very deep sleeper and it takes more than some rocking to wake me.
10  Powerising / Invicta BockerZ / Re: 3rd Invicta BockerZ Meet - Sunday 10th February on: February 06, 2008, 09:31:29 PM
No worries. There's no rush. I tend to work sporatic weekends, and then there's friends and family functions (always at the weekends) to take into account. It really is a matter of me getting lucky Smiley

Shame I can't come to this meet. I love crowds <3

I'd love to join you all since I don't know any of you and would love to meet up but, alas, I'm working that day. Here's hoping I get lucky with your March meet date  Smiley
12  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: my bocky-woks on: February 05, 2008, 05:34:37 PM
I landed on my foam when running and there's just a little mark, you sound lucky ?
True dat. I was barely moving when I feel. Put four scars on my left knuckles and pulled the muscle around my right elbow. My bocks had a chunk of foam missing, a little nick in the spring tape and some awesome scratchs on the metal on the kneebar *shrug*
13  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: my bocky-woks on: February 05, 2008, 10:56:27 AM
Looking good so far. I'd strongly suggest doing something with the foam on the kneebar. I tore a frikkin huge chunk out of my foam on my very first fall. Now I've used pipe lagging (on the inside for added comfort) and a mix of duct and electrical tape all over to prevent more foam damage when I inevitably fall again.
14  Everything Else / Introductions / Re: Introductions on: February 05, 2008, 10:51:16 AM
Sounds like fun. I've been lurking the invicta bockers forum waiting for them to arrange a meet I could get to, work being the obstacle. My girlf drives so getting to you wouldn't be a problem. I'll talk to her tonight (between pancakes Wink) and get back to you.
15  Powerising / Problems / Re: hurting when bouncing.... on: January 24, 2008, 09:01:50 PM
How long have you been bocking sidnell? I must be super unfit. I got 'bocker's back' the first day I really gave it some goose while bouncing... :-(

It passed :-)
