hey guys, just so you can see that i am not a total idiot on my bocks(as i looked in the other video) here is my frontflip. comments appreciated. ~Casey
very good mate.. its really funny to watch my friends that try my bocks try to get up on them, they all suck(even after a few hours of good use) so you are doing well, keep up the good work. ~Casey
(sorry for the sound and lack of sound from me... this wasnt originally going to be with sound, but i have no program to edit these videos) also, this is NOT me at my best.. im rather tired in this, and frusterated as well.
Ok, This is very upsetting... This is the most height that I can get on my powerizerM100's. I weigh about (due to fluxuating weight) 180 pounds, or 81 kilograms. and I am only getting 3 feet, or about a meter... my flips are second rate, and my grabs are as well. lack of skill doesnt seem to be the problem for me, but time in the air and height does. feedback greatly appreciated. ~Casey
hey powergirl. one thing that I learned just last night was how to do a barani. the trick is to twist your body when your head is facing downwards from a frontflip. if you are confident with your front flips, then this should be a cinch. if you cant get the twist right away try putting your hand down(only one if that is possible for you) and manually twist your body. another thing to keep in mind is your hips. the more you twist them to the side, the more twist you get. hope this helps. ~Casey
wait! if you havent sent them back already then consider this.. i have been bocking for 2 years off and on, but I have been bottoming out since a few weeks after i got mine.. i have powerizer (forgive me as well) M-100's but I weigh 180 exactly(just weighed myself today) and That is below standard. I need to go up a model because the chinese company powerizer has incorrect sizes. so if you havent already sent them back then I wouldn't. everyone else doesn't have poweriZers and dont know what the weight is like. If you really can then buy the class that you think you need and keep those, but just from my experience, I need stiffer springs(and i even bought 1 class higher than i thought i needed) im only getting 3.5 or 4 feet of air, so its up to you mate. just letting you know my story. ~Casey
well.. for me, I already need new springs after 2 years (using them only a few weeks at a time) and i am 196 or so.. my powerizers are supposed to be for 190 - 210. I need to upgrade to bigger springs so that I can get more lift. If you are comfortable with the amount of height that you are getting and dont think you want more, then I would go with new pads, but if you want more height and you know that you can get more, then go for the springs. hope this helps kender. ~Casey
Thanks mate. The reason I was asking is because you can do all of those kick ass tricks on powerizers and they are said to be weak and you cant do as much on them.. but just today i learned a backflip so thanks for the help. I love this website.. its awesome and everyone helps eachother out. ~Casey
Im so proud of myself, I did my first frontflip today! what I did was go to my high school with a buddy(non poweriser buddy, but buddy none the less) and layed out the mats that were there.. the hard floor gives very good traction and makes a safe sense of security not to slip. first I would reccommend somersaulting onto it while on your risers.. it makes u get a feel. I know how to do flips as well, but It helped me.. then just go for it and dont freak out.. thats the #1 key. hope this helped.
Powerskips are seven pounds (weight, not cost), their springs can last several times as long as most other brands, and their frames are near immortal. The springs are soft at the top of their compression and really hard at the bottom, making for easy running but still having very nice humping power. They are the best except for maybe Velocity Stilts, but I think Velocities are just modified Powerskips. They have tough Velcro bindings for an easier time putting them on and removing them, plus they have calf cuffs, I think. Velocity Stilts are somewhere between $2000 and $3000. Powerskip Pro is about $1600, maybe more but not a lot more. Normal Powerskips are $1400 or so. The difference is that the Pro model has pivoting footplates for better running and generally a little more power per stride, plus you bolt a pair of shoes onto it for the bindings instead of conventional bindings. It's lighter and more stable that way.
7leagueboots is also pretty damn good, but good luck getting them in the USA. Their springs have a less extreme version of the nice character of Powerskips. In all respects, they aren't as good, but they are much cheaper and still very nice. However, they do weigh ten pounds like all the cheaper brands. 7leagueboots does not have a model with pivoting footplates or cuffs; all standard bindings (Maybe you can get snowboard bindings, not sure). They are around $500 or so.
Poweriser is pretty tough and robust Their frames will not die prematurely on you and the hooves do not scuff. I have Powerisers and like them quite a lot. However, the springs need breaking in and are the same strength at the top and bottom of their compression. The Poweriser Advanced model comes with snowboard bindings and calf cuffs, which are really nice. However, Poweriser does not make pivoting footplates. You can also get calf cuffs separately and they fit on all other stilts, except the Up-Wing, of course. Baseline Powerisers are $300 or sometimes more, Advanced is $500. Dome mentioned "mystery springs", which I believe are going to be a Poweriser product. Once they are done with development, they will kick all ass and be the most awesome springs on the market, he hopes. Preliminary testing of prototypes is very promising.
I believe you are familiar with Powerizers. They are not so good... comparatively fragile frames, lots of spring breaks, bad customer service, etc. The Pro version has pivoting footplates, which are nice. The Up-Wing is light, especially at the hoof, and has pivoting footplates and calf cuffs, but the cuffs really suck. They really aren't that great, although the design does have a lot of potential.
In general, particularly for cheap brands, a lot of people do say you should get springs above your weight category. I'm 70kg on 70-90 springs, and they are very nice for me, although as I get better I do want more power. They are still satisfactory.
I hope that did you some good.
thank you so so much.. i love you all. you are all very helpful.. its nice to see that when you live in a place like i do, where everyone treats everyone like crap. looks like i really want a pair of powerskips or 7 leagues.. but, im only 16 with no job... hah. thank you again.. you really helped me out.. ~Casey
