Well I had another look at ebay and found these: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260291986713

At $130 + $39 P&H they are cheaper than those first ones AND it comes with a years warranty which is awesome! I might be trying to convince my dad to let me get these ones... I suppose I should also ask what the warranty covers, what should I ask about though? Spring breakage? bearings?

Yeah, it's been like a year since I was on here considering buying some Tongue and as such I forgot what the different brands looked like... I dunno if I will bother with them as my plan was originally to buy a decent pair rather than sh**ty ones.

So, These are on ebay for $172 AU and I'm thinking about buying them. Granted I am about 70 ish kgs (haven't weighed myself recently) but they are cheap and I can probably convince my parents...

What do you guys think?

The guys name is Keahi Seymour. And he called them Bionic boots XD All I found was rather old info (like, before 2000) So perhaps he gave up in the face of bocks Tongue

They were his invention. This was way back in 1999 remember. Around when (if what I read from sprog was right)  Mr. Boeck invented bocks... But I was just wondering if anyone had heard of them. I found a few references about this site but no clear, here's pics/video.

I figured you must have discussed this guy Tongue Did he do anything with the concept or gave up because bocks are better? Tongue

So I was watching a show on ABC2 called Scrapheap Challenge and it's a pretty cool show about these team who are given a challenge, a mechanical marvel, to build and only the stuff in the scrapheap where they do the challenge. And in the final they were building walkers and after some footage of some robots they had this guy who had these boots, "incredible springy boots to bounce along like a kangaroo" sound familiar?

Well after some few initial pictures/footage in which I mistook them for bocks, I saw they were quite different. They use what appears to be a chain attached to a foot which passes up through a gear and then goes vertically upwards to attach to some springs.

I didn't find out till well after the footage that this series is from 1999. So, anyone heard of them?

I will link you all the video when I upload it... My laptop won't upload to youtube and the actual computer is busy killing viruses.
