376  Powerising / Practising / Flips on Trampoline on: May 04, 2007, 09:45:52 PM
I was thinking about practicing flips on the trampoline and how it would translate to flips with bocks.  Now I can do all sorts of flips all day long on a trampoline but I think when you go to Bocks it's going to be a whole lot different.  The reason is you have about 10 pounds or so straped to each of your feet.  So I was thinking of straping some ankle weights on and practicing on the trampoline.

what ya think? yeah? good idea?
377  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Cut the wire? on: May 04, 2007, 07:42:04 PM
I cut the wire out of mine and they seem to be pretty good.  Just gotta make sure you get em on good and tight.  They're way easier to strap down without the wire in the way too.

The PoweriSer Calf cuffs are at about 100$

As Sprog said... try to get them over xphub.com

I emailed xphub earlier this week and they didn't have pricing yet and said it would be a couple months untill the manufacturer gets caught up.

wow what a rip... at 500 I'll just buy the all new 07 riSers.  And you don't get the bars!?  When I get good I'm gunna have them sponsor me with free velocity stilts and never use em.  that really bothers me how expensive they are and like they are all high class and better then everyone or something.
380  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Velocity Knee Cuff replacement part for PoweriZers on: May 04, 2007, 05:08:46 PM
Anyone have experiance dealing with Stiltwerks?  The reason I ask is because I noticed the Velocity stilts have calf cuffs.  So I emailed them asking about replacement parts and how much some knee cuffs would cost.  They responded with "do you currently have a pair of velocity stilts?"  I'm not sure how to respond.

Maybe...
does it matter if I own a pair? as I want to buy something and you could potentially sell something and make money.

Or maybe they would be free replacments for owners?  I just feel like he's going to judge me and be like well since you don't own a pair they will be 500 for the knee cuffs.  and if you did they would be 5.

So maybe I should just tell em yea! I do have a pair and they are great except I took this spill and I bent the bars on the knee cuffs and need a replacement.

Maybe it's not a good idea to get cuffs and stick em on my poweriZers as they won't fit well.

my m70's sounded like a Goose getting it on with a lama when I first got em.  I lubed em up real good with WD-40... which I guess your not supposed to do but it worked although they still clicked.  make sure you get the top of the spring too.

I just found this out yesterday. on mine there is a gap at the bottom of the stilts where the bar meets the spring.  it looks like you have a picture of it in 0037.jpg.  It doesn't look like there's a gap in yours though.  kinda hard to tell with your pic.  Mine used to clap like that but I jammed some stuff in there and there nice and quite now.
382  Everything Else / Introductions / Re: What should I get? on: May 03, 2007, 06:00:35 PM
I would say if you have access to a trampoline try doing it there first and understand what it feels like to flip around.

Then go from there learn on the ground with padding and a spot. This is probly going to be really hard untill you get your flip technique down almost perfectly.  which is why I suggest doing it.

Then with the stilts with padding. There's video's around of people in places landing on big pads. Back flips are generally easier because they are NOT a blind landing.

I guess there's also Gym sessions around... check this post.

I'm in the US so I don't have this luxury... Sad  I'm actually looking for a gym around here that'll let me go at it.

well, if you have £240 by far the best, most affordable pair would be the 7League Boots, these are the most durable and seem to last the longest of all the stilts around that price.  Also they are much quieter Smiley  I am just going to assume that you live in the UK in which case you can buy them from www.7leagueslondon.co.uk or other similar local sites, www.7leagueswales.co.uk for example.  If you live in mainland Europe you can buy them from http://www.poweriser.at/index.htm.  Unfortunately if you live in America then they aren't available until summer so you may have to look at getting another pair if you really can't wait Wink.

Edit: I typed all that and I'm d**n well gonna post it even if Athoul did beat me Smiley

you say the 7League boots will be available in the summer in the US?  I'm woundering if I should get some of those and throw some calf cuffs on em.
384  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Adjusting springs on M70's on: May 02, 2007, 07:34:07 PM
you think cardboard will hold up in there?  I'm sure a piece of plastic or somethin would be better though.
385  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: Adjusting springs on M70's on: May 02, 2007, 06:03:30 PM
that looks like its from the back side.  I'm talking about the inside... hmm maybe I can find a pic on the net and point it out exactly.  but I like the idea of sticking something in there... that might work.

sorry I totally ganked this pic from the gallery... I hope whoever's these projumps are won't mind I'm using this pic to show what I'm talking about.

if you follow the spring up from the tiresock where that cylinder and it goes up to the foot pad.  there's nothing in that gap on mine.  it looks like they have something in there like a brown peice of something I don't know.

386  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Adjusting springs on M70's on: May 02, 2007, 05:35:48 PM
I was adjusting my bocks yesterday and I noticed there's a bit of play before the spring actually starts to flex.

Where the bar comes down from the foot pad to the spring there's a gap where it pushes on the spring.  you put pressure on the stilt then it hits the spring then starts to flex it.  I was wondering if there's a way to load the spring a lil bit so it's always touching and ready to flex.  I feel like it might be causing me to lose energy as it collides with the spring before it flex's it.

Maybe this is why you don't buy cruddy PoweriZers.
387  Powerising / Problems / Re: PoweriZer's really hurt my knees on: May 02, 2007, 04:54:32 PM
hey everyone thanks for all the tips!  one thing I havn't been doing is warming up or stretching.  I'm gunna start doing that.

Pendragon, what sort of pain is it?

Like bruising or aching etc.

I have jumpers knee (osgood schlatter or however its spelt) and my Pro Jumps actually help this as it relieves the stress on impact. However without knee pads the bars do hurt and can bruise the inside of my knee slightly, but this is no problem.

I can make the pain hurt if I flex my leg all the way out like doing a leg extension and flexing it and I feel a pain right below my knee cap.  It's not bruising from the knee bar.  I have really big skateboarding knee pads I put on to fill up the knee bar.

yesterday I was messing with the foot pad and the knee bar.   I lowerd the knee bar and rotated the foot pad down thinking it would be less stress on my knee or something.  All that did was making me want to lift my toes and feel like I'm falling forward.  So I just put em back, level.  When I was messing with that my right leg felt like it was being forced to the right when I would stand on it.  I thought I bent them or something but I just went back and adjusted the side screws.  I could probly still straighten them out a lil more.
388  Powerising / Problems / PoweriZer's really hurt my knees on: May 02, 2007, 07:51:53 AM
Anyone else have pain in your knees from bocking?  I've never had these problems on a trampoline although I havn't been on a trampoline in a while then again I can bounce off of my toes and not my heels.  I'm fairly new as I just started in the fall last year.

Do I just need to take a break and heal up and pick it back up later?  I'm about to order the new '07 powerisers, As I hear the PoweriZers are the bottom of the barrel.
389  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: PoweriSer 2007 Calf Cuffs TEST REPORT!!!! on: May 01, 2007, 09:31:44 PM
anyone go from PowerZers to Powerisers?  I'm seriously thinking of selling my m70's for a pair of these new '07 7090's.  I've just started last fall so I'm still kinda new but I think I'm progressing really fast and I don't want to be limited.
390  Powerising / Injuries / Re: landing when jumping and leg is straight knee bends slightly the wrong way on: May 01, 2007, 06:24:45 PM
It seems like my knees take a lot of strain from just bouncing around. I have this pain right under my knee cap for a couple days after using em. It takes a huge amount of energy to just get a little bounce out of em.  I'm just under the weight range for my m70's.  anyone else have this problem?
