Ok you're right, but it was going to be messy anyway.
812  Powerising / Videos / Re: Dawesome having 'A Brain Fart' on: January 30, 2008, 08:30:38 PM
Definition- brain fart
A sudden and complete failure of normal thought processes, resulting in a very stupid error.
Example: tripping over thin air, as in this movie.  And before someone goes to correct me, he's cruising for a face plant long before he touches the rock, which doesn't really save or hurt him.  In fact, I'm not sure if he touches the rock at all, hard to tell.

Another example is claiming that two and two is five and actually believing it for a few seconds, although it doesn't have to be severe.

You should have put up the acapella version!  It's so much weirder!
814  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: S-Rex Type R - A New review on: January 29, 2008, 01:15:43 PM
So uhh, what do these things look like?  There are murmurs about changes in the frame, but what are these changes?  And what makes the type R so great for running?  Does it have a pivoting footplate?

Would it make business sense to set aside one or two crash mats just for bockers and charge extra because they would wear it out so fast?  Or is the wear so great that you'd still have a hard time making money off it?  Having them set aside just for bocking would mean you could do any necessary modifications without having to make them removable.  Carpet sounds really good to me...

Yeah, there's going to be some trouble giving people FL products if they have to actually use them for the promo.  And that's not a joke, because I have Powerisers and as long as they work, I wouldn't use FL bocks if someone gave them to me for free.  I would probably just give them to my little sister and keep the good ones for myself.

Poweriser hooves don't scuff.  I think they wear out faster than the other brands, but they don't scuff and they absorb very little energy for slightly higher bounces.  Mine seem to wear like erasers on pavement, but they're probably very good for the gym environment.

So uhh... what did this mysterious post actually say?
819  Powerising / Problems / Re: Slip on the lower leg joint on: January 27, 2008, 02:29:23 PM
I'm not 100% sure about the details of the white plastic bit because it isn't present on my model, but shoving paper or cardboard in the gap is supposed to work as a replacement.  Since that doesn't work with yours, I don't know what the best course of action is.
820  Powerising / Problems / Re: Slip on the lower leg joint on: January 27, 2008, 01:43:16 PM
The distortion looks worrisome.  If you have a warranty, I think it would be a good idea to take advantage of it.  However, it should last a little while that way and it will be very obvious when it gets to the point where fracture is imminent.  I think you can run on it, but keep an eye on it.
As for the gap, I seem to recall someone sticking part of a broken CD in there.  There is usually a piece of brittle white plastic in there to fill the gap, but it tends to break or fall out.

Oh, they aren't really that awful.  You'll get more bounce for your dollar with other brands, but they aren't terrible.  They have a short lifespan, crappy stock bindings, and the springs lose a little more energy in the bounce.  You can still do a flip on Flying Locust products.
822  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: The best and cheapest store on-line on: January 27, 2008, 12:47:23 PM
I thought, "Wow, that really is cheap!"  for a second, then noticed the prices were in euros, not dollars.  That's actually one of the more high-priced places I've seen.
823  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Magic Pixie Boots? Fitted shoes? or what? on: January 25, 2008, 10:01:50 PM
Oh.  That's two misconceptions cleared in less than half an hour.  Sounds like a really nice form of binding, too bad you gotta drill your shoes, though.
824  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Magic Pixie Boots? Fitted shoes? or what? on: January 25, 2008, 09:52:13 PM
Oh.  I was under the impression that they came with some factory-made shoes permanently bolted on.  But being able to switch the shoes with ones you really like is really cool!

I presume that if you do switch a pair with the ones they come with, you have to drill a hole or three in the soles?
825  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Magic Pixie Boots? Fitted shoes? or what? on: January 25, 2008, 09:31:17 PM
Cool, thanks for the info.  Seems like there's not a whole bunch of info on Powerskip bindings...  The picture was very informative, though.  Anyone have much to say about pixie boots or the fitted shoes?  I'm thinking that maybe there isn't a lot of difference in hold and comfort between most binding styles, but I think anyone who hasn't actually tried the Powerskip Pro's fitted shoe is rather curious as to how good they are, particularly in terms of comfort.  If anyone has experience with Powerskip bindings, I think there are a lot of us who would like to know how they do.  People will go on and on about most other parts, but foot bindings seem underdiscussed.
