Probably not necessary.  It would be sweaty, relatively expensive, and serious overkill.  Wrist guards and elbow pads are sufficient and I think the warmth of the armor would make it even less comfortable than normal pads.

Broken bocks... Perhaps the "XS"-Rex is as powerful as they say it is...
648  Powerising / USA / Re: Capital Bocking USA 08 planning on: April 20, 2008, 06:35:20 AM
I'm moving to California on August 13 by car.  Vegas is only possible for me if it's after August 18 or so.  DC is only possible for me if it's before August 12.

Spring grabs because I'm not really good at anything else yet.

Mine wobble too, but it doesn't appear to be anything fatal, so I don't worry about it.  I think it just happens, but I'd be interested to see if 7league works better.

Maybe just a separate information block for "country" would be sufficient.

And mcnarcyx, go check out the member map.  It's at the very top of the page in white text on black.

Orange and red make a flashy combo.  That's what I have, but it's colored duct tape instead of paint.  Green and pink could be cool too.  But leave the kneebar foam black because paint is not flattering to foam.

People should really be required to say which country they are in.  The UK and USA, particularly the New England area, have many town names in common and it's always a letdown when you find out that someone is actually on the other side of the Atlantic.
654  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Perfect springs, your thoughts about.. on: April 18, 2008, 02:11:56 AM
Looks like the difference in strength between the first inch and the last inch is huge even compared to the Powerskips.  I noticed this from the smoothness of his landings: no shock at all, while even on
Powerskips you can see the impact go through his body.  When he bounces, the mystery springs seems unwilling to compress the last eight inches.

Hey, if they need any testing, I would be happy to abuse them and tell how they hold up.  I can noticeably wear down a pair of Poweriser springs over the course of twenty minutes if I really try (Running is hell for springs), and I bock 30-120 minutes every day, so I'm not completely joking.

Wait, only one of them has two springs?  Or is each one an example of one of your pairs?  How does it work with part of the kneebar sawed off?  Those are amazingly cool, I wish you had come to the Boston meet a couple of weeks ago.

Modding is addictive, most definitely.  If I had a workshop and some metalworking skills, I'd be cruising around on some real monsters.  I've done all the modifications I can do so far except for furry spring covers.
657  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Perfect springs, your thoughts about.. on: April 17, 2008, 09:34:58 PM
There's definitely something different about those springs...  They look thinner and it gives a very different impression from the thicker springs.  They also seem very strong.
658  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: S-Rex Type X Spring Review! on: April 17, 2008, 01:25:10 AM
Hmmm... that's true, but the reports of 7league springs sound very good now and I keep hearing new information.  PR 7090s are a bit softer than I'd like, but I don't really wanna go 90120.  If 7league S-Rex X is softer than PR90120 and loses less energy, I want them.  But the reports of breakable frames have put me off from buying a whole pair.  Every brand except Skyrunner has at least one part or another that I would greedily snap up and manically attach to my current bocks.  I want some pivoting footplates from FL or Powerskip Pro, I want Powerskip springs but won't have the money until who-knows-when, I'd snap up some PR calf cuffs if I didn't already have them, and failing Powerskip springs, I want 7league.

I do admit that my last post was a little too enthusiastic.  I am obsessed with the idea of making my bocks better.

Somebody get 7league to start selling in the USA!

Argh, I'm wearing through my Poweriser springs at an alarming pace!  Skips are too expensive, Poweriser can't handle my abuse!  We want 7leagues!
