Not disputing THAT point!  It's right up there on my personal list of the best songs ever.  Just very sad, that's all.  BTW, the video itself was pretty damn good for a noob.  I've had mine for two months and I can't do that.  But that's mostly because it's been snowing like crazy here in New England.  Hoof + ice = bruised butt.

I know I'm the hundredth person to say this, but the Pink Floyd was really cool, all except for the last song.  Time is the most genuinely depressing song I've ever heard...  The sound is really cool, but the lyrics make me wanna cry sometimes.  Not so great for a bocking video.
813  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: Where can I get Powerizers in New York? on: January 08, 2008, 12:33:27 AM
I believe the only store in the entire USA where you can walk in and get them is somewhere in California.  That's the other side of the country, so you're going to have to order them through a catalog or the internet.

Hmmm... It might be simpler to discuss which sets of muscles DON'T get a workout.  Even my neck is getting stronger!  Here's a list of the muscles that I find don't get sore if I've been out too long:

Fingers
Forearms (marginal)
Calves, but I don't have a rotating footpad
Toes
Facial muscles

Anything else I missed?

Hmmm... ball ball eh?  Play soccer with those on bocks.  You can call it Boccer!  If you can pick the ball up, you can use it to hit other people!

Here's a good one:

Inverse Doppler Effect- the way that the sound a vehicle makes gets lower as it approaches you and slows down to gawk, then gets higher when they pass you and speed up again.

Where I get sore is in the muscles that bring the leg forward at the hip joint.  That's probably because all my leg strength comes from biking, which does not use them.  Does anyone else get that?
The odd part is that it's in completely different spots on each leg.

That's all that would be necessary anyway, because small people are light.  She might go for modified adult-sized stilts, though, because the issue at hand is height.  A big block of something and extra-long bindings would do nicely.
819  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Powerisers in the news on: January 06, 2008, 11:16:55 PM
I don't think anyone really needs to make a fuss about it.  It's polite to remove them when you're getting onto a vehicle, or if you're in a real hurry, hop on and then take them off.  Ian Shannon shouldn't have made a scene about it if they came up to them and asked him to take them off, although I really don't think the employees should have made too much of a fuss over it either.

Don't forget that he was on their property, though.

I AM on the member map.  I just used my real name on it.  I'm Frank VanBokkelen (I know my last name is weird, it's Dutch).

Wait...  Van BOCKelen?  Hehe cool.  I wish it had a CK instead of KK.
So...  anyone else ever had an encounter like that with a midget?
821  Powerising / Problems / Re: ADVISORY: PoweriSer 2007 lower bracket bearing replacements on: January 06, 2008, 05:39:19 PM
Mine have the bearings, but they wiggle just a bit at that joint.  There is some play between the top and bottom parts.  Is that supposed to happen?

Hampton, New Hampshire, USA.  I strongly doubt it's anywhere near you.
823  Everything Else / Powerising Stories / Bocks for midgets? on: January 06, 2008, 04:42:11 AM
One of the first times I went out on my powerisers, I had a chance encounter with a midget lady of about 45.  Naturally, my stilts were of great interest to her.  I think I must have spent ten minutes telling her everything I knew about them.  I could only jump about 2.5 feet at the time, but she was nonetheless impressed, although I think she was more concerned with the gain in height.  I haven't seen her again after that, but there may soon be another bocker in my hometown.

Hi all.  I'm seventeen years old and I live in Hampton, New Hampshire, USA.  I'm a pretty new bocker and underexperienced for the time I've had mine due to the local weather and their nonexistant traction on ice.  I was reading through the mods section when I decided I HAD to join this.  I love tinkering, but I lack the skills and resources to do anything interesting.  For example, here's an idea that I can't really implement: the anti-chav mod.  It's a pointy metal spike protruding from the top of the hoof, pointing about 20 degrees above horizontal.  I think it would be a fine deterrent to any would-be thief like in the post, "Beware of 14-year-olds on miniscooters"
