We'll find out, I guess. It's all a question of how force relates to acceleration with different masses, and I could probably make some equations to give the answer, but I'm too lazy.

It will be interesting to see how the actual strength of the spring relates to its weight category. Do two 60kg springs equal one 120kg spring? Or are they less or more? Spring strength may not be linear in comparison with the weight they're made for.

I meant the embedding doesn't work right. The guy in the link is the video I had earlier tried to embed but came up as no longer available. The link works.

Oh, it's still there, the link just doesn't work right. There's nothing wrong with my code, either. I guess expertvillage just doesn't want their videos embedded into other people's sites. I would like to repeat that this guy doesn't really know much at all, but he's still useful so here's a link. Cheezy running tutorial

You need to mess with the knee bars? I know my cuffs get in the way, but it's much less of a pain to work around them than to remove them and put them back in place. Then again, knee bars are much simpler to put back. Is is impossible to do that without moving the kneebars or just difficult?

I don't think there's a tutorial yet, but it really isn't that hard. Bocks are complicated but really not that hard to take apart and understand.
Undo the big bolts that hold the spring brackets to the frames. Make sure you don't lose any washers and remember where each one went.
Undo the smaller bolts that hold the brackets onto the springs. There are two for each bracket. Again, make sure you keep track of your washers. You're going to have to remove the bottom bracket before you can completely remove the spring from the frame. Once the bottom bracket is removed, you can slide the spring through and out of the hoof.
Take your brackets and attach them to your new springs in exactly the same way that they were attached to your old ones, and then put the brackets back onto the frame exactly how they were before. It's not that hard, unless you don't have any metric wrenches. The bolts in question are 9mm and either 12mm or 13mm, not sure.

Really, why does everyone throw so much hate around on this forum, especially for new things? For one, I'm excited. That is obviously a heavy-duty frame, and it's not the final version. I think speedjumper is doing fine for explaining things. There are some points of the design I'd like to hear an explanation for and I'd really like to see these adapters, but he never truly had to through the trouble of creating an account here just to talk about a picture someone found on a German forum. Personally, I'm a little suspicious of the claim that someone ruined S-Rexes in twelve minutes (unless kicking a rhinoceros was involved), but the frames in the pictures are obviously heavy-duty. It seems to me that the Up-Wing-style hooves would also greatly reduce wear on these frames because the springs absorb the shock and side-to-side forces instead of metal, so the claims of durability for this new design are believable to me. I think the introduction is fair enough. And guys, don't forget that these bocks are designed by German engineers, not Chinese. Ever hear that joke that starts with "In heaven, the engineers are German..."? German engineers don't screw around. These are the folks who brought you the original Powerskip. Really what we are looking for is video evidence of the "extreme" bockers on these speedjumpers. Please I second that! I wanna see these in action.

Yeah. If 7090s are easy, S-Rexes and 640s will give more height, but they will not be harder to bottom out. Raptors would feel like walking on an old trampoline. As far as I know, the only springs that are significantly harder to bottom out than 7090s are 720s or 90120s. You may be able to get custom mega-springs from Dome soon, but I'd suggest Poweriser 90120s unless you know you're serious you have a hefty pile of cash sitting around.
If you're bottoming out 7090s after a week, how much do you weigh? If you're much over 80kg, you should have probably gotten 90120s to begin with.

I just had a eureka moment! The reason why they don't have support rods is because those bocks will bottom out differently. With no hoof metal, the only point of contact when they bottom out will be at the front of the hoof. This would put support rods in compression and buckle them. The heel truss is there because it can take tension and compression!

(CONTINUED DUE TO POST LENGTH LIMITATIONS) Things to ComeS-Rex Pro Energy/S-Rex Diamond: This is a prototype 7leagueboot that was demonstrated during Capital Bocking 2008. It had lighter frames than other 7leagueboots and the springs were more powerful than normal S-Rexes. However, the prototype still had the inferior bindings of un-upgraded 7leagueboots, and the same extra-large knee loops that S-Rexes have. There is no word on what the price tag will be. Flying Locust cuffs: There have been some rumors going around that some day, Flying Locust will make Poweriser-like cuffs. Now those rumors have been confirmed and it is currently possible to pre-order them. They are very similar to Poweriser cuffs, but the padding on the inside is ridged, possibly allowing for better air flow and reducing the sweatiness problem. picture hereUp-Wing remake: Flying Locust has been working on a remake of the Up-Wing/Redoxx/Elite model, addressing the numerous flaws. There have been a few pictures and videos released of prototypes, and the list of features to expect are as follows: black hooves instead of those goofy orange ones, better footplates with very nice-looking snowboard bindings, a choice of normal knee loops or Poweriser-like cuffs, bicycle-style quick releases for the cuffs/loops, and the ability to fold at the heel for easy transport. This model is currently for sale in some countries, but is still undergoing improvements and has not reached the USA or the UK yet. It is reported to still be rather fragile. Speedjumper calls it the Olympic. If you have names from other vendors, please share them. Picture hereCarbon-fiber springs: These are currently in development by Dome in Switzerland. They are intended to be superior to even Powerskips in durability, character, and efficiency. His Youtube channel is Jumperdome and has a few videos documenting the progression of his spring development. They will be close to 1000 Swiss francs for a pair. There is no definite release date or price as of yet, but he says they are currently in the final testing. Dome's Youtube channelSpeedjumper Pro: Speedjumper, the biggest FL dealer in Germany, is developing its own answer to the Up-Wing. It uses their springs and the hooves have no metal part, but the frame appears more conventional. They are developing adapters for normal springs, too. They have no support rods. Unlike the Up-Wing, these bocks are being designed to be average weight but exceedingly tough, rather than very light but below-average strength. They will have adjustable footplates allowing for the best fit and comfort, but the footplates will not pivot. It is expected to cost significantly under 1000 Euros. Picture here some pictures of a newer prototype sans bindings
