Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: READ THIS FIRST!! WHICH MODEL TO BUY

With springs like they have, it may not be a totally bad idea. However, what they need to do is improve their springs. Frames that go loose but never break and cuffs can only take them so far. If 7leagues enter the USA and Flying Locust cuffs enter the market, Poweriser will have very little going for it.

Never heard of this happening to 7leagues. It's especially odd that someone as light and new as you could damage the frames. You said you were what, 55kg, when you were talking about getting raptors? Either 7leagues have suddenly gone downhill, you got two bad stilts, or there's something very strange about how you jump. I've heard of it happening in an old generation of Powerisers, but even so it was not quick. Not a whole lot you can do to fix a bent frame unless you're quite handy with a wrench/vice, but part of what accounts for the difference in price between 7leagues and Skyrunners is this not happening. If they don't cover it in the warranty, they should.

mission to mars is NOt impossible. The way I did it was to make a ring of wheels around the "earth" that spin the ball on a long, flexible arm. If they go the right way and you place them tightly enough, it gets whipped over by the spinning.

I don't think that's as big a difference in height as there is in character, but it's all so mixed together and hard to piece apart.

I think when you break in a spring, it does lose a bit of maximum height, but I think most of the stiffness it loses never added to your jump height. Instead, I think it's mostly stiffness that contributed to the lost energy in each bounce. It could just be me, though.

I don't think the whole frame was really necessary, but when I inquired a while back, they said I should get a lot more than just the footplate. I really think they suggested more than necessary.

Looks like a strange knee loop and foot straps setup. And why do it out in the middle of nowhere in the desert?
Yeah, looks like the strap that belongs on the heel is going over the top of the foot. Either the record is totally bogus or he did that to get a tighter up/down grip in his bocks. And I think I can see how he might have done it. When the springs snap back up, your whole body does not have to move. You can make the springs more-or-less just bounce your lower body or legs up, then push your legs back down with the rest of your mass. Doing that, it may be possible to bounce up and down fast enough to achieve that.

yeah, bocks as they esist now are toys, they could be adapted to make running their main use, but as they are, definately built for jumping, advertisers can put all the spin they want on it, commuting on bocks is unrealistic
Pssh... if you don't remember... who bocked to and from cardiff bay from LLandaff the whole weekend, and even in the rain? doable yes, practical no What's this"practicality" you speak of? It sounds useful, but if bocking isn't it, I'd rather have nothing to do with it.

Tape will not make them stiffer or last longer. All it will do is protect them from damage. Scratches turn into strips that come loose over time. That may explain the big splinters. By the way, duct tape is not the best protection. It tears too easily. Hockey tape or bicycle inner tubes are the best in my opinion (I have tubes), but many people use electrical tape and a few people use bike tires.
You're not the only one who has had trouble with them by any means. The black springs are prone to breaking. Nearly every person asking what to do about broken springs here had some brand of Flying Locust stilts. If you can't seem to get a hold of some that will hold up, 7leagues would be worth the money.

Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Re: 7's availible in US?

after shipping costs, a pair of 90120's from the usa may be cheaper.
Keep this in mind.
Powerisers would be cheaper without the extra shipping. XS is right though, and 7league dealer will ship them to you if you are willing to go the extra mile.

Everything Else / General Talk / Re: t-rexs compared to raptors

T-Rexes will help you develop some skill and muscle. Overpowered springs take a long time to master, and on any springs you will find your endurance limited for a long time. However, you are very light and the 15kg up to the bottom of the T-Rex range means a lot more than if you were 75kg on S-Rexes. In the end, if you have the money and really want them, Raptors are good, powerful springs.
