Hey Razor-
Razor is a mate who is being modest when he says he powerises 'socially' on my powerisers!

wow, what a coincidence!
[for everyone else: Razor is my climbing partner, and we put the ad up at alien rock]
978  Everything Else / General Talk / Alien Rock Ad on: March 03, 2006, 06:54:14 PM
Hello,
I wonder if anyone has come to this site by seeing the advert I put up at Alien Rock?
Alien Rock is the Indoor Rock Climbing centre I go to every week, and I put up a small notice there to try to get more visitors to the site.

Hey,
I came across this site and thought it was pretty interesting:
http://www.engr.colostate.edu/~dga/high_speed_video/
It has dozens of videos taken with high speed cameras- for example this video of a water baloon falling is really cool, you can see the baloon flatten out and the waves travelling up it as it compresses then bounces.
Someone should film a Poweriser's spring bouncing like this.

Yeah, that is such a cool video!

I added it to the videos section, in fact: here.

That flip over the truck looked pretty close to a pretty bad injury, I thought.

That would be really interesting to learn more about them. After a wee while searching on google, I couldn't find anything about fly jumpers.
It would be gret to hear more.

Welcome to PoweriserPages, waveskier and bounce!
Those Fly Jumper things sound interesting.
waveskier: I didn't realised they advertised Powerisers on the TV.
984  Powerising / Where to Powerise / Re: Where to Powerise article on: February 18, 2006, 09:21:35 AM
lol! You could just be boring and take them off before going to the toilet, but that would ruin the challenge.
985  Powerising / Practising / Re: What's your favourite thing to do on your Powerisers? on: February 18, 2006, 09:19:58 AM
 Cheesy
You do wonder what the small kids think of you when they see you walking on the Powerisers. If you like attention, Powerisers are great things to own.

Welcome to the Forums!
That's really interesting.
I, too, decided to mention Powerisers every day after seeing my Rock Climbing instructor using them one day. Indeed it resulted in a birthday present.
Walking and running is where I am also at the moment, and I don't think sommersaults will ever be at all likely! They really are for the mad/pros.
I'm just improving my technique so that it feels more like walking on the moon with them on.

987  Purchasing Powerisers / Where to Buy / Buying Powerisers on: February 15, 2006, 08:36:54 PM
There are now many vendors of Powerisers on the Internet, and the best way to get a list of them is by simply searching Google.
Powerisers weren't sold in the UK until reasonably recently, but now there are many UK vendors selling them for around £250.
I personally got my Powerisers from Jumping-Jaks, and I would certainly recommend them. They offer free delivery, and sell Powerisers from only £220 at the moment. When we ordered a pair from them, Jak dealt with our purchase personally, and ensured that we purchased the correct model.

Personally, I have no idea on how best to do flips- I'm not that confident.
I might write an article about how to do flips though, based on other sources. What do you think?
990  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: What does PRXXXX actually mean? on: February 12, 2006, 05:55:53 PM
Hey Chris,
PR does stand for PoweRiser, and the numbers stand for the recommended weight of the users.
The first two numbers aree the minumum weight in kg, and the second two show the maximum weight. (or 'mass' if you care about physics)
so, the PR5070 model is for those between 50 and 70kg.
