MBXX is the pro version Martin.
Thnaks for the clarification. GOOD NEWS! 7league boots announced in their German forum that the S-Rex springs will be available soon. I have already had the chance to jump on them. I have to say impressive, I will post my opinion as soon as I have made an in-depth test. Martin

DO NOT BUY SKY RUNNERS
I bought some and within two weeks (about 10 hours of use) the braket to the beam below the footplate bent. it bent at the pivot point directly below the footplate on the lower side of it. it is causindng the whole foot plate to skew sideways relative to the spring. it is very scary using such dodgy equipment.
i canot comment about the other brands as i dont have them.
Maybe sky runners are not the best (they seem to be Chinese knock offs), but 10 hours of use that is definitely a warranty issue. Have you contacted the vendor, what did they say?

They are MB70KG. And that's all I know, because mine were wrongly packaged. Thanks if you can help.
As far as I know these are Fly Jumpers (the Chinese company sells under varius brand names). To my knowledge also the German Speedjumper used these springs at the time this test was made (but I am not sure). But I read somewhere that the "B" is a newer season of production (of flyjumper), before it was M70. But that should be confirmed by someone who knows better than me.

Powerising / Videos / Re: This video made me buy my first pair of stilits.

Do we know who this guy is?
Wulf is a bocker from Germany. As far as I know he bought his stilts around fall 2005, he was one of the first who posted good vids. Despite I bought my stilts nearly a year earlier, I was fascinated by his courage and skills. Unfortunately Wulf is currently not very active in the German forum, he does not have a permanent internet access (as far a I know). I guess I should ask him to come to Gothenburg. Martin

my comment regarding mats: I do not know what crashmats are but decent mats I know (used them e.g. today in a gymnasium) start at around 1000,- Euro. So I would not buy any, you would need several of them (otherwise you can make one jump in an hour due to the line of people).
You must have several gymnastic clubs in Gothenburg, so why do not arrange something with one of them (since they have equipment, indoor and maybe outdoor space?)

I got questions if it will be possible to organise these thick mats like they have in a gymnasium or outdoor for high jump and similar things. Since some might like to practice flips. Or we even have a gymnasium availabe.
One idea from my side would be foam obstacles (with different heights) to jump over them without risk.
Let us collect ideas and wishes.

Hi,
I informed all German forums about the gathering in Gothenburg, I hope a lot will come.
By the way I have not found a cheap flight to Gothenburg, but there are some to Stockholm. So it might be interessting to know for all: how far is it (by train) to Gothenburg from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Malmö, Denmark (or wherever an airport is)?
Also if there are enought people I could organise a bus from Germany to Gothenburg.

I speak German and I am active in the German (& Austrian) forums, I think many users know me there. If you want me to take on this task let me know. The more we are the better it is.

Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Velocity Calf Cuffs, my video
|

wow, thanks for your compliments and I will try to answer your questions: I can bottom out the E640, this is no problem, but it takes more effort and I need a very exact timing. With softer springs it is just easier and small timing mistakes are not such a problem (see one of my old videos where I used softer springs http://www.martin-alkin.com/poweriser/MartinAlkinJuni2006Poweriser.wmv). I orderd the calf cuffs directly from Jeff, who is the guy behind stiltwerks and velocity stilts. They are $$ 500,- plus customs without the tubes. So you have provide your own tubes and to mount them on the tubes. The Poweriser ones are delivered ready to use and easy to mount. They have a kind of 6cm rubber-tube on the steel tube which has to be placed under the tube clips. This tubes work like a brake or blocking in order to avoid the tubes revolving after a high and hard jump. This rubber thingies I did not have on the velocities so I had to find a way to solve the problem. (sorry difficult to explain for me, I hope you understand) The Powerskip springs are around 360,- Euros a pair and definitely YES they are worth every penny. I only know one spring which has IMHO a similar quality (7league boots) but they only have 50/70 and 70/90 so for higher weight categories I would go for the Powerskip. Martin

Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Velocity Calf Cuffs, my video
|
on: December 22, 2006, 11:56:29 AM

Merry Christmas to all of you, I have tested the velocity stilts calf cuffs for a while and I want so share my opinion. At the beginning it was very strange, it took me a couple of days to get used to them and to feel comfortable. But now I do not want to go back to the old solution. They are very soft and comfortable and no reduction in stability (at least for me, others did not feel stable). By the way I also own the Poweriser Knock-offs and they are exactly the same, just a little bit less quality but the VS are ridiculous expensive. I would recommend to try the Poweriser ones. (see also http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/index.php/topic,787.0.html) Here is a video, I made with my latest equipment (7league boots, Powerskip springs, Velocity Stilts calf cuffs). I used the E640 Powerskip springs which are proposed for 95kg-115kg since I only have 73kg it is hard for me to jump on them. Therefore the movements and tricks do not look very smooth and precise as it would be with softer springs. But I can get very good height that is the pro. http://www.martin-alkin.com/poweriser/7ms_E640_VS-calfcuffs_12.2006.wmvMartin

(I know I am picky but PoweriSers do not have a pro version, like you asked in the voting)
I also heard it has an advantage for simple running but not for jumping. Some German bockers own them, vids are on this forum (e.g. seek for Sandra in this forum).

Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: What offers the most bouncing height?

Ok, well i'm not a pro but i'm into extreme stuff so extra height is wanted. What would power skips or league boots go for in US currency and where could I buy?
You do have two separate two things 1) brand and spring quality 2) weight class 1) make your own choice I don't want sound like a promotor so I do not recommend some 2) also important is the weight class you choose, I have springs where the weight range of the springs fits with my weight. But I also have springs which are 15kg or 25kg respectively above my weight. Of course you get higher with them (which is fantastic) but they are stiffer, it is difficult to learn on them and it is not good for your joints and back. At least you need well trained back muscles.
