Well there is some improvment to be made. But the comparison you made wasn't so great I think... It's not like you push down the trampoline net a few decimeters when you jump on it, like you do with your bocks. 2 meters springs that you can compress a meter would look kinda funny though
If you compress a spring with X newtons, it will wanna push your leg up with X newtons. This brings me to a question I have... ill make a new thread about that Cheesy

Why is my comparisson not valid? Go one time on such a trampoline and you will feel the difference (re energy exploitation).

I fully agree 32cm compression is different to 1 meter on a good trampoline (which I already outlined in http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/bottoming_out-t1357.0.html ) but still the point I wanted to make is that trampolines are more engergy efficient (way more than bocks). I would (as my personal guess) say when you compress bocks with X newtons they will push you up with X/4 newtons. I do not think that efficiency is above 25%.

@Friis
try one time such a thing http://www.eurotramp.com/ (used at the olympic games).

Professionals get up to 9 meters  Shocked on them (just with muscle power and efficient springs), then you know what efficiency is.  Wink

I would say there is still a little bit (technical) improvement possible on our stilts.  Grin

his user name is zackiz here, you can even do flips without any stilt (so skill is the only question), do not by stilts in the USA you have a much bigger choice here in Europe (Powerskip, 7s, PoweriSer, Flyjumper etc.)

some addition: I heard that the newer PoweriSer springs (from 2007) model are softer than the older  ones (2006). I was referring to the 2006 ones which I tested in 70/90. the 2007 Springs I only tested at 90/120.

Maybe someone could give you better a comment on the 2007 70/90 PoweriSer springs.

Hi,

AirRunners and Powerizers are from the same manufacturer. The (current) AirRunner model is only designed differently. In my personal opinion I would not buy those. These stilts where not released in Europe since there were serious quality and construction concerns (search fro Up-Wing/or Redoxx on this forum, that's how they are called in Europe).

PoweriZers are OK if you get them reasonable priced and ensure that you get the latest version, since some vendors bought big bulks and are therefore still sitting on old models which had quality problems. PoweriZers are also called pro-jump here in Europe. Search on the forum, one pro-jump dealer (from ww.pro-jump.co.uk) posted pictures in order to identify if the stilts are the latest version.

I would also say that PoweriSers are the best option, but again ensure that you get the latest version (Advances 07). The only drawback are the relative stiff springs. I would not recommend a 70/90 Poweriser spring for a 60kg beginner. Learning is a pain in the a** then (but possible). PoweriZer fibre glass springs are softer there you could go slightly above your weight range. If you get PoweriZer carbonfibre springs (the black ones) do NOT (!!!) go above your weight range these are very stiff. So spring is a question of the brand also, not only the weight range. A Powerskip or 7league boot spring is softer than a PoweriSer spring or a carbonfibre (PoweriZer) spring.

I hope that helps

The German vendor has good contacts to FlyJumper that is probably the reason why he gets prototypes very early. These stilts are tested by users of all skill levels (from beginners to pros). In general I would say that it is the manufacturers choice whom he selects for testing and there might be good reasons why and how he makes his choice. I have never seen that a car manufacturer let test everyone a prototype  Wink.

The first impressions sound positive to me, the pictures not bad either. I am curious to hear additional opinions soon (from testers).

Never seen that trick before, looks interesting.
Would need a few more photos from different angles to completly understand it though
not seen before? Just look into the biggest collection of powerbocking (which is www.PoweriserPages.comWink. Here is the trick (slightly different re arm position and back leg) from another angle http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/gallery.html;sa=view;id=190

First tests and pictures published in German forum. Attention: still a prototype so not the final version. The model will be called "Olympic" in Germany

it is a prototype therefore no spring protection
current version has a knee bar but calf-cuffs (similar to PR) will be available
the proportions have changed (e.g. footplate is higher and bar which connects footplate with spring is longer) therefore the spring travel is 30cm longer than on any other current model
prototype has no hooves (so for test the old Up-wing ones where used) which will be different
fibreglass and carbon mixture is used for the spring
NO tilting footplate
no launch date of the model was stated (we`ll have to wait)
they are very light

since I have not tested them I do not want to comment or guess any pros or cons. Here some comments from users:

jump feeling and reachable height seem to be great according to testers (no surprise to me since already with the former Up-wing version the feeling was very good)
feeling is described as closer to trampoline feeling than with any other stilt

I do not think there are any patent issues about the cuffs. I do not know of any calf cuff patent (is there one, who would hold that?
Jeff Jay, made the original calf cuff for the velocities ?
I know that he made them, but is there a patent, that is the question. I have not heard of any.
We were told they were not for sale in the UK due to patent issues, so we can only assume he holds a patent on them
Ok that might be an explanation. But it might also have been an excuse/explanation why Poweriser was not willing/able to sell the calf-cuffs to UK. The calf-cuffs where not built/ordered/designed  by Poweriser itself but by the German importer (!) as far as I know. So maybe the German importer was simply not allowed to sell to UK or USA since there other importers had an exclusive contract with Poweriser. This is only a guess (anyone may correct me) but sounds also reasonable to me. Since the German company immediately sold the calf-cuffs to many other countries when they were launched, but not to UK.
