The delrin bushings have passed the test and are quite robust the problem- a little expensive at $120 for a full set.
22  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: Pivoting footplate or not? Or what? on: January 14, 2008, 02:40:35 PM
I've gotten so accustomed to my pivoting footplate that when I upgrade to the 'riser 07's I'm swapping out the classic footplate for the pivoting one.  It just feels more natural to me and I have NO trouble tricking in them at all.
23  Powerising / Modifying Powerisers / Re: bearing conversion on: January 08, 2008, 04:51:06 AM
I've tried different types of ball bearings with mixed results.  After the initial install, the action is smooth and everyone is happy.  The problem is that ball bearings really can't handle shock loading without galling up the bearing races.  I ended up having to change my bearings after approximately 8.5 hours of straight bocking.  unless you have an unlimited supply of ball bearings, I would suggest getting some poweriser 07/08 bushings and coating the inside with molykote, a dry film lubricant.  Then they're just like the stock 7's bushings only alot beefier.  If you still want to step up from that, I can have some delrin bushings made for you.  Light weight, self lubricating, non-self sacrificing.  Just a few alternatives.

i'd only be driven to things just too far away to bock, otherwise, you're right

Driving in bocks is THE worst idea I've heard of to date. DON'T DO IT

That's what I tried to tell codesane, he's a little batty.  I'm going to employ my sis as a driver to get around safely.

Aside from the name not being quite as catchy, Mantis vs. Codesane promises to be mildly interesting if nothing else.

For those unfirmiliar with Kenny vs. Spenny, It's a TV show on comedy central where two friends try besting one another in random competitions such as "who can stand the longest", "Who can blow the biggest fart", and "Who gets a boner last"

Long story short, Codesane and I have set a competition in place as to who can wear their bocks the longest.  That's eating, sleeping, going to the bathroom, and even (eeep!) driving.  All without dismounting.

The competition will start whenever in the hell I can scoop together some vacation time.  And of course, video's will be taken.

Besides, lookie here:

Those are kiola's skip pro's and they already have the holes drilled in the metal, you would, worst case, have to enlarge the holes in the toe plate to meet them.  Easy as 1...2...ummmm, oh yeah!...3

lol,

J.B. weld isn't welding, it's just a really strong 2 part epoxy.  I've even seen it used to repair a crack in a bulldoser engine block, it's really tough stuff.

J.B. Weld is my personal favorite

if you want to put a tab in, that's up to you.  It will require some welding though.
