Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: Spring Trubblez

to what XS said, there's little things you can do to gain a small ammount of height, like swinging your arms up over your head while bouncing to add a little extra upward momentum. But to really reach your maximum height, new springs are required.

I think beryllium is pretty light and makes high-quality springs, but pure carbon fiber would probably be better.
Pure carbon fibre is very brittle so would not make good springs, as they would constantly shatter/snap. That's why the current "carbon fibre" springs are actually a fibreglass/carbon fibre resin mix It depends on how the carbon fiber is layed out, if you lay the fibers one way, they might be stiff as steel and very brittle. But laying them another way would result in a more flexible product. it's combining two or more wraping directions that produce a strong spring with an acceptable feel.

Now Mantis is mad!!! Those mother F***ers!! If I jump the pond for Capital Bocking and we see those jag-offs again, you'd better bet that a broken jaw'd be the least of their worries. My bocks will run red with their blood!!

it'd be a 9 hour drive for me as well and it's alot closer than texas. If we go any more north then I'll be facing the same problems that you guys had with coming down here. I was thinking nyc but we're saving that for BockNYC '08. I just looked more westerly and came to philidelphia, pa, and that's a resounding no-the whole city stinks-litterally smells bad . so the next most westerly big city was pittsburgh. While I wasn't a bocker when I lived there, it was some dynamic bocking terreign including Carson st.(party st.) strip district (party st jr.) as well as downtown.

what about pittsburgh, pa? I used to live there and in retrospect, it was pretty good bocking territory. Plus, it's smack dab in the middle of the east coast bockers, and as far as I know, it's never been bocked before. We could burst it's bocking cherry!

provedence, ri...boston,ma....NYC...N.Texas...decisions,decisions,decisions. i wouldn't mind going to RI or boston, cuz the terreign in Zan and xs's vids looks very dynamic and just plain ol' fun. NYC cuz i missed BockNYC '07 and i need to make up for it N. Texas because Coachgeo is offering his gym to us (for off-bock training i assume) what's everyone's take on the subject? Coachgeo, how's the bock-worthy territory around your gym?

hey Coachgeo, I wonder if you could do a favor for me... I've been scouring my local gyms trying to find a place to practice flips safely. Most gyms said "no" right off the bat, but one gym considered it and they said that the only reason they wouldn't let me is that my bocks might damage the floor. Maybe you could talk with them, being a gym owner yourself as well as a fellow bocker, you might have a little extra leverage than I. The gym is Impact Athletics here in Cary, NC the phone no. is (919) 467-2281 and the e-mail is request@impactathleticsnc.com If you could do that for me, I'd be in yor debt!!

That'd be a whole lot easier than me trying to rip video off of youtube and then trying to ask permission from everyone to use their video. Besides, I just picked up Adobe Premiere Pro and I'm still learning the ropes.

I would like to see one such video myself. I had one gym that was right on the verge of letting me practice there but they were afraid that the bocks would damage the floor. I tried to find a video of safe gym useage but all of them had some sort of bail that just makes you go, "oh S***!! that had to hurt." A picture's worth a thousand words- at thirty frames/sec that's 30,000 words per second of bocking persuasion!
