It would be fair to say that I, among others, have been quick to criticise PJ during a decline in quality, particularly their change of footpads and the white spacer thing.
Well today we met up with a new kid from Barry who has some new projumps and its the first time i've been upclose with projumps for several months. I was a happy bunny as the pic below will show.
1. I didnt actually check for a white spacer but the spring covering seems to go all the way down to the foot again, which does help prolong the springs life (I think generation 2 or 3 cut back on this, resulting in weaker springs).
2. The footpad seems to be lasting longer. The owner has only had them a month but says he's on them almost every day and not just for 10 mins. I looked close at the bottom of the rubber and there are no signs of the metal showing at all.
I should also point out, though he is new, he was still jumping down 5 steps today so he is using them rather than standing around getting used to the height etc.
I will closely monitor the foot but its very nice to see that something was done about the nastyness.
I'm not sure if this applies to other Flyinglocust brands like Powerizer. I cant see why it wouldnt, depending on what generation they are.
Anyway, it was a nice projump experience. Which is not something I've had for the best part of a year
