I choose the skate helmet, due to reason given above.. i think it fits the sport better as a whole..
Skate Helmet by far. It covers much more of your head and is a lot more robust than a bike helmet (polystyrene with thin plastic vs. polystyrene with thick plastic/metal)
From my skating experience I was taught by a pro that a bicycle helmet is designed to take just one impact (it then splits in two), where as a skate helmet is more robust and will take multiple impacts.
Although I cant see a tumble happening very often, I'd still stick with a skate helmet just in case.
(by tumble I mean falling uncontrolably rolling and rolling - think of a downhill skier falling down a mountain)
