1  Powerising / Problems / Re: Trouble changing springs on: May 18, 2008, 06:40:19 PM
Here was the part I was talking about.

(Original pic taken from www.powerbockresources.com)

I managed to remove it, but it destroyed the lid on one of the caps.
After changing springs and scrwing it into the foot section, I went to re-assemble the section in the pic, and I was only able to put one cap in.  I figured it would not matter too much, so I only used one and then added the washers and the rest as it was before.  It seems ok and seems solid.

For the second leg, I managed to just slide the spring out from under that tube and so I never took it out.  Guess you learn from your mistakes.

Anyways, both springs have been replaced now and I am ready to finally try them (after staring at them for about a month).

Somebody ought to make a video on how to change springs one day.  It will help out the beginners such as myself!  Wink
2  Powerising / Problems / Trouble changing springs on: May 16, 2008, 10:51:42 PM
I finally received the correct springs for my stilts (powerizers), but I have one problem.  I have the spring removed, but the foot section is still on.  There is a tube with a white plastic piece underneath.  How do I remove that?  The manual just shows it popping right out, but I have no clue how to properly pull it out.  In fact I managed to snap some of the plastic on the two "ends".  I am getting rather frustrated with this considering I was never supposed to be changing them (got the wrong springs with the stilts initially, see here: http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/help_got_my_stilts_yet_wrong_model_should_i_keep_them-t4476.0.html).

Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ah ok, thanks!  That does seem in fact quite easy. Smiley

Ok, so now the vendor is asking me if I want to just remove the springs and send those back (for the ones I was supposed to have), which I am fine with.  Problem is that I am really new to this stuff and I am not sure how hard it is to remove the springs.  It seems that in general, it is not a difficult procedure, but could somebody give me some tips as to how I should proceed in doing this?  If this already exists on the site, my apologies, but I couldn`t find any info on how to remove the springs, just many threads about upgrading/changing the springs.  Thanks.

I don't have the carbon fiber springs since I didn't go pro, so I have the fibreglass springs.  Is there a stiffness difference between crabon fibre and fibreglass?

Hmm, interesting.  I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks!

Thanks for the help.
I sent the details to the vendor to see what is going to happen.
I guess my intro to bocking will take a couple more weeks. Sad

Hey guys,

I didn't want to pay too much for stilts since I am new to them, so I went for some simple Powerizers (yes, I know.. forgive me).  I got them today, and I was quite happy to get them.  The problem is I ordered the M80 model, and I got the M100 model.  That pissed me off quite a bit, but I wanted to know what everybody thought before I complained to the company.  I weigh roughly 160lb, so I fit in the bottom of the M80 category.

M80: 161 - 180lbs
M100: 201 - 225 lbs

There is quite a difference between the two weight categories.  I have read some people say to go up to 2 times over your weight class, but I am really just beginning, so I am not sure if it is the right thing to do.

Please let me know if I should keep these or if I should contact the vendor and get the M80s I originally ordered.  Thanks!

I hurt my back 2 weeks ago on a Rola Bola.  Probably not the same thing as Bocker's Back, but the pain has gone away over the last 2 weeks.  I should be getting my bocks this week, so we'll see if I experience any starter's pain as well.

If it really hurts though, don't aggravate it any further and maybe get it checked.  As others stated.. you only have one back!

As normal stilts, they aren't bad.. just with all the hightech-ness of bocks.. it's hard to look at them and be impressed. Smiley

I don't have any bocks yet, but I was thinking of going to Boston with some friends to see the hockey game (against the Montreal Canadiens).  It would have been perfect if it had collided with the same day as one of your meetups.  Unfortunately, due to a lack of planning, I don't think we will manage to get the tickets we wanted and will probably not go down.  That said, I have yet to visit the area, so I might make the drive this summer to come check it out.  It is pretty sad that I live about a half hour from the border, yet I have not even crossed over.  The currency rates definately make it a lot more interesting now. Smiley

The knee bar is full adjustable, it should sit just below your knee

Awesome thanks.

So would you reccomend the PoweriSer over the PoweriZers?  (That S and Z naming scheme is annoying) A regular Poweriser will probably end up costing me close to 100$ more than a regular Powerizer (because of the border fees and shipping, unless I could find a Poweriser dealer in Canada)

Also, probably a stupid question, but I'm 5 foot 9, would the knee bar arrive at the right place, or is it adjustable?  Thanks.

I sent an email to xtremeimportz an dthey mentioned that the 4th generation pro powerizers should be out in a month.  I can wait that long, so it was why I was wondering if it was better.  I don`t mind buying from a US vendor, I just hate the fees that I will have to pay when it crosses the border (thus my preference with a Canadian vendor).

Hi, I posted this on the introduction forums, but I think it will fare better here.

I have been checking the forums and the knowledge articles from this site, I could use some extra advice on what to buy.  I am really confused about the patent laws regarding the original Bocks, and the lack-of of the patent here in Canada.  I was looking at xtremeimportz, since they have been mentioned here quite a bit, and are also located in Canada.

For somebody who has never done stilts before, and I am not acrobatically inclined (I don`t expect to do flips or anything crazy), would you reccomend getting the normal Adult Powerizers, or wait a bit for the 4th generation Pros (that have the carbon fibre spring and calf pads).  If you have any other suggestions on other brands and where I can get them in Canada, it would be great help.  I can`t afford the original Powerskips, but I can pony up the extra for the pro models if it is reccomended.

Thanks!
