thats good to hear guys, i wasnt so lucky myself. it comes down a lot to how you use them at their limit really.
47  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: PoweriSers Vs. PoweriZers on: December 12, 2007, 06:26:35 PM
they are all the same mikey. i think the skips springs u have to adjust slitghtly to bolt in, but other than that, if ur fine with doing some bockign DIY its all game.
48  Powerising / Problems / Re: I broke my bock... on: December 12, 2007, 06:23:52 PM
those original powerisers were the only pair other than 7s i would consider gettign again. but more due to the lovely footpad. infact id love a original poweriser footpad to put on a new pair of 7s.

nope, because most people with riZers dotn ahave those bits on their Bocks at all...

-Carma (The Bocking Rocker)

i think its better to save up for 7s now. cheaper in the long run.
49  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: PoweriSers Vs. PoweriZers on: December 12, 2007, 06:18:44 PM
rizers arent gonna kill you dont worry! just they are very prone to breakages and problems, much more than riSers or 7leagues anyway.

i suggest saving for 7leagues, as in the end i think it would be the cheapest option. They aren't cheap, but u pay for great quality and they will deffinately last you a long time. rizers are cheap and will be fien for a while but in the end, all the replacement parts etc u might end up havign to get and the annoyance of all this just adds up.

and im speaking from my own perspective. I have owned a pair of every brand except skips and havent found a pair that will last me the way i use them other than 7s. plus its not just what i say, most other people agree, especially the people who have been doing it long enough to have tried/owned a few brands. Maybe im biased, and take it as you will if you think that, but maybe im just going on what i believe.

Why shouldn't you use calfs if your doing flips?
Never heard that one before Undecided

First off, im not arguing anything at all about how nice and tight you can get each type of strapping. (and if i was calf cuffs seem to do a better job) what I am talking about is protection for the knee itself. that is why im talking about flipping, as when you flip, (especially when performing flips like the back, front 180 or back 360- ones you come down facing the way you came)
then if you fall you are more than likely going to land with your knees taking a lot of impact.

Cuffs offer very little if no impact protection when you fall. the knee bar does the opposite, it offers a very high level of protection from impacts. I think i would be better off with a diagram of the knee bar to explain how this exactly works, but basically it is designed very well to deflect the vast majority of impact pressure away from the knee and onto the stilt. as your knee hits the ground the big foam padding soks up the inital impact pressure, and then the metal bar inside takes the rest. the metal then transfers that impact down the bars and away form the knee itself, pushing the impact down the stlt rather than directly onto the persons knee/legs. At the moment im doing some new flips and during practice I have fallen a few times onto my knees and i know that if I was wearing he calf cuff my knees would have taken impact they are just not designed to take.

um... no, i flip with cuffs they're fine, don't jhulv and chris use cuffs on their 7's?

They hold your leg in great, and dont hinder the flip at all i agree. but no safety incase of a fall (See above) and juhuv uses the knee bar.

Basically heres how it is in my opinion.

Cuffs = Great comfort
great strapping to connect the user to the bock
very little protection from impact

Knee bar = Satisfactory comfort
Good strapping to connect the user to the bock (when adding some extra straps like pinheads)
Awesome protection from impact

and as i can fix the first 2 things (Comfort/strapping) to make them more than adequate i will always take the kneebars due to the much larger safety you just do not get with the cuffs

i dont think its legal to import 7s like that so go for the powerisers. if it were legal though then i would say 7s.

the best because they have the calf cuffs....
unless ur doing flips, then cuffs imo are a no no

Zers are fine stilts, we've all seen what the urbantricking guys can do with them, if you know what you're doing you can pull the big tricks on any stilt.

i dont argue that, but remember they get there stilts for free and if they break they can just get a new pair of the company. That makes a difference to the average person who cant afford to pay out time and time again for new parts/springs. my flyjumpers i have owned (2 pairs) in total lasted me 3months. one pair lasted 1 month and another pair lasted 2 months before the spring broke. thats just the spring, and excluding the fact the feet wore down in less than ONE DAY on one pair and that i broke a strap on one boot just tightening it the first week of owning them.

I personally think that 7s in the end are a much cheaper stilt with by far the best value for money than any of the others if you intend on doing it for a while or even want to do more than just walking around in them.

Make sure you tighten all the nuts and bolts up regularly on sevens, the top fastening of my spring came off while I was jumping.

Good luck and have fun.

that is good advice for all stilts. you have to do your own maitenence regularly on all brands in order to make sure they last the longest time they can
58  Everything Else / Powerising Stories / Re: Woot - My new 7's on: December 11, 2007, 05:33:58 PM
in what? speed of running? height of jumping? breakable?

in my opinion (i have owned both types) all three of them the 7 leagues is better. especially when you consider the higher weight options now available from 7 leagues.

But in this instance we are specifically talking about the latter. The quality of the 7s parts of the stilt are a very high quality. the spring especially, is a much better, stronger and more durable compound than the flyjumpers.
59  Everything Else / Powerising Stories / Re: Woot - My new 7's on: December 11, 2007, 05:13:59 PM
how are powerizers rubbish? i got some and for me they're fine

because compared to the superb high quality the 7 leagues has, they really are put to shame
60  Powerising / Problems / Re: Broken Buckle ? on: December 10, 2007, 11:41:43 PM
this is something that needs to be addressed, those buckles are annoyingly weak. I know 2 brands who are doing this though which is good.
