16  Purchasing Powerisers / Choosing the Right Model / Re: Upper weight limit for bocking? on: September 03, 2008, 06:07:36 AM
Hey Twitch, I have a set of the 90120s on the way as well. I figure I'll try them out and see what breaks, then re-enforce/replace parts as needed. Hopefully by the time I get the hang of bocking someone will have figured out a way to accommodate more weight.

I'm hoping bocks are more fun than trampoline: I get on, sink to the ground and wonder why everyone else thinks it's so much fun Wink

Cheers!

Thanks to all for the advice!

As to fitness level, I walk briskly 30 minutes every morning and 45 minutes every evening, plus 30 minutes of strength and weight training three days per week, finishing off with several minutes of juggling on a balance board. Apparently this puts me above the 90th percentile for fitness for Americans. I find this both surprising and saddening.

I also bike, roller blade and ride a kick scooter (Xooter).

I have played around with stilts in the past (the wooden pole type for kids). I was planning on making some based on an article in the last issue of Make magazine, but then I saw the performers at the closing ceremony of the Olympics, and immediately got online to research.

I am interested in running and jumping for now. Flips - maybe later, if at all. I'm usually pretty easy on my gear.

Dark Knight: I was thinking about doubling up springs too, but in a leaf spring arrangement like truck suspension. Keep me posted on your progress.

Mr. Frank: I looked up Powerizer 90120's and they have two models, Classic and Advanced. Any opinions on which would hold up better when overloaded?

Hello, just saw the jumping stilts at the closing ceremony of the Olympics, and I would very much like to try this sport. What is the upper weight limit? I am 6' 4", 285lbs (130kg), but figuring clothing and gear, I would want something rated for 300lbs. Is anything available on the market that I could use? Thanks!
