I made some stilt legs for mine that cover from above the knee to below the foot - They are open at the back to allow for spring movement, if you wanted them closed then just stitch velcro up the back of the fabric.
I made them out of two pieces of fabric that were 50cm by 75cm each.
I hemmed the fabric to stop it fraying,
Then I stitched about 10cm of velcro to the top of the fabric (lay it out portrait style) and wrap it around your leg to see exactly where to stitch it.
Next I got some thick cord and layed it over the bottom - about an inch in and folded the fabric over and stitched that down - so it was like a tube that the cord could move about in.
I bought some of those press toggles that you find on coat hoods, and threaded one on to one side of the cord.
When you put your stilts on, wrap the fabric around your leg and stick the velcro together.
Thread the other bit of cord through the toggle behind your foot and pull it tight to gather the fabric...
Hey presto - stilt covers!

I'm dragging this one up again as i'm getting really frustrated with my bocks I just cant seem to get anywhere with them at all - even when i get really mad with them, theres just hardly any give... me thinks i should have got raptors till i do have 'arnie legs'... To be fair, it would be nice to have a try on some first, before advertising them for swapsies... so i guess this is a plea for anyone in the Manchester / Sheffield area with a pair of Raptors to meet up and let me have a go! I'll look at arranging a Manchester meet up - unless there is lots of demand for a Sheffield one?!

hmm... on a vaguely similar note, i was on a wonder around sheffield the other day, and after a barrage of, 'whats wrong with your legs' 'have you broken both your legs' and 'is it coz you got no legs' (yes, it seems sheffields finest ARE that dumb) this one guy came up really, and i mean really close behind me and started with the 'i reyt wanna trip you up..' now, as much as I wanted him to, so i could fall on him and do him a hell of a lot of damage, you gotta rememeber that they can get up a lot faster than you, and also, there are usually more of them than you... thank fully i had a helpful ground crew with me and by ignoring them, they left me alone.
being new to bocking, my confidence isnt great, and i was quite intimidated... guess the point im trying to make is dont go out on your own unless you have to. its just not worth it.

ok, im having a massive clear out and im getting rid of some pads i dont use anymore. i dont want any money for them, but a contribution towards postage would be good. Some of them i have never used, the only items with noticable wear are the decath wrists - took a tumble and they have a scrape mark on them...
im giving away: one set of anarchy knee pads, size small one set of anarchy elbow pads, size small
one set of decathlon knees, small one set of decathlon elbows, small one set of decathlon wrists, small (these are kind of like fingerless gloves, so you wont fit into them unless your hands are small!)
pm me if you want them - first come, first served....
