oooh! i share your pain! i cant eat cereal cos it makes me throw up Sad

protein shakes are awesome. my bro has some that are made with water and he says they taste great...

'rice dream' is the best of the milk alternatives if you don't want soya milk... i had a lodger who was lactose intolerant, so got used to this stuff - its quite good!

otherwise - toasts, bagels (tesco do niiice bagels) porridge with water (really it doesnt taste that different!) or fresh fruits.

good luck!

Thats a great idea Lukey!

OKs - anyone who wants tape from Identi-tape, PM what you want, and i'll start to put an order together... once it hits the hallowed hundred bucks, i'll submit it and get it shipped over Cheesy

OR... I could continue to abuse my sister in law to be's living location and have it shipped to her and then ask her to post to me... depends how desperate we are for funky tape! yeah, just PM me if you wants Smiley

28  Powerising / Learning Tips / Back Protectors.... on: April 16, 2008, 10:44:40 PM
Hey,

I wasn't sure where to put this Mods, so feel free to move it if its in the wrong spot....

I'm thinking about getting a back protector, the reason being is that I'm self employed, and if I injure myself I can't work, which would mean I wouldn't be able to pay the bills (had to get that in so I don't get abuse for being softie Wink )

So, can anyone recommend one? I've looked at some cycling ones, but they look really bulky and like they could restrict movement.  I'm sure I saw someone wearing one at the Doncaster meet when I came to do photos, but I can't remember for sure...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

haha - yeah, there have been some pretty huge explosions in flour factories...
but it does work, i'll change my avatar pic to one i have of me breathing with custard powder...
30  Everything Else / General Talk / Re: circus acts on: April 15, 2008, 04:00:07 PM
I've been doing fire art for quite a few years now and there is a BIG problem with cheap fuel - its dirty - in its manufacture, and in the smoke that it gives off when burnt.  Putting paraffin in your mouth is very, very dangerous, as it is a high level carcinogen - that means that is an agent directly involved in the PROMOTION OF CANCER or in the facilitation of its propagation - i.e. YOUR MOUTH!

I'm not saying don't do it, cos that won't work, and it would make me a hypocrite, just be aware of how often you are handling these chemicals for in your mouth, and buy the best quality fuel you can afford.

When I am teaching I show people how to create impressive results with custard powder (yes really!) which is much safer.  if you want more info on how to use this, please pm me.  I can achieve a fire ball about 4 foot in diameter with custard powder... which looks pretty damn cool - and its not a carcinogen.

For poi and staff and any other fire 'toy' use BBQ fuel - NOT GEL - it is a higher grade fuel, and therefore burns with a lot less smoke and is much cleaner.

There are some fantastic health and safety tips on a website that has already been mentioned - homeofpoi.com and also some true stories to open your eyes a little to when it does go wrong.

anyways... just my two cents...
