My bet is there is no way new springs will be warenteed if you put them on some other brand of stilt.
You bet wrong. I know people who have put other brand springs onto their stilts and have been covered by warantee....
Good info thanks.  Will have to see over time if that holds true in all countries or or not.

just get a pair of springs from Skyrunner one or two weight level ratings higher than what you have now.

Better said ... just get springs one or two weight level higher than the springs rated for your actual weight.

This way your spring WILL have some warentee. Don't know how much but it should be some.

.....  Alon the way we were inspired by some serious leaf springs that pulled up next to us at a stop light... And yes his tires were taller than dom's car.
LOL.  Piece of junk mall cruiser.  Thats like taking Boks and adding a few chunks of pretty metal and Hoofs worth shiat loads of $$ to make them taller, for the sake of "cool".  Along with this though is the trade off of ... the Bocks won't bounce worth crap anymore.

What a waste!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant.  Sorta biased toward "real" things that work not "cool" things that are useless for any other reason.

what i find quite funny is if its little kids (usually under 12's) asking to see one. you say "sorry i cant do them" then wait till they turn away, then bust one out ...
yep, its a great act.  Been doing a comedy skit based on that for years.  It never fails.

Im in the same boat as you.  I HAVE to be in one piece.  Got mine of Flea Bay for 45 bucks NEW.  Mine is a snowboarders vest with pads all over the place and a spine gaurd.  I got new padded shorts too for 28 I think.  Helmet was new too.  My elbow, knee, wrist gaurd were used skater gear
172  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / Re: Ashrita Furman - World Record on: April 16, 2008, 03:20:55 AM
The article said the stilts needed to be 40 inches high.  Bocks are only eighteen inches.  The picture has him on normal bocks.  Huh
their at least 40" if you measure the whole thing.  No telling if the orginal record was done with the feet 40" of the ground or if they were 3" off the ground and 37" more stick from there for you could hold onto.

Butt....... in deciding to do a search first........ it looks like it may well have been a 40" foot from ground in the orginal record.  See

Make sure your body is straight, you spin faster thay way.
No bent legs.
basically he is right but with more detail then just bent legs.  Your head goes out way early cause alignment issues so your body cant be straight.  Work alot of Layed out flips with straight body and wth head rotating along with the body instead of tilted back.

You look like your a visual guy and that is AWESOME!!!  I see your spotting the ground.  This migth be why you throw your head back..... to see the ground.  Well... you can still see, you will just pick up the visual a tad later on regular flips.  On the back flip w/twist you will see it after executing a tad bit of the twist.  You can then look along side your arm pit or shoulder and see the ground.
174  Everything Else / General Talk / Re: LMAO look how flimsy these look on: April 15, 2008, 09:49:24 PM
for a non sprung stilt...... they look just fine to me.  Little overkill on the design compared to other short stilts Ive seen.
175  Powerising / Learning Tips / Re: I got them! on: April 15, 2008, 03:25:50 AM
not bad on the knee bar. I would like it a tad lower but thats not horrible. Granted I look at it from a anitomical, biomechanical thing cause thats where my experience is.  The Bockers with experience will pipe in to add their points.

On you bindings... you might consider swapping legs with your stilts so the bindings go on the inside of the foot and not the outside.  The outside of the leg and foot could more easly whack the ground in a fall than the inside. With them on the outside you might break the clasp in a  smack on the concrete.

Take a look at the bottom of the picture with the cushy padding.  They should make the knee straps like that instead of bare synthetic straps....
They make fuzy seat belt covers about a foot long. Work perfect for this kind of padding.  You can find them at auto part places. They come with velcrow so its an easy application. Heck I got mine for a buck at the dollar store.
177  Powerising / Videos / Re: First Frontflip on: April 13, 2008, 05:28:06 AM
... What are some reasons I can use for letting me use them in thier club?
"Can I get some private lessons to help me flip better"?  Arrive w/the stilts for your first Private.  "I want to flip in these eventually"

After some private lessons and when your getting the hang of it with no spotting.... and you know the lay of the land in the facility, then ask for some time  you can train on your own.  Mention you have some buddies that would like to do it too and how much would it cost them.  Mention you assume they will all need to sign some waiver or something like that and would they please give you coppies so you can get your friends involved.  Mention that they too would probably want some private lessons or maybe a private class.

Money talks.  Respect Backs it up.

For a bunch of wankers those are not bad ideas  y'all came up with  Wink Grin

I even sent a copy of this thread to a few folk who run technical bulletin boards so they can ponder the input offered here.
179  Powerising / Problems / Re: Setup on: April 12, 2008, 04:46:21 AM
that spots not horribly bad there on that bump for your knee bar.  Below it.. might be better.....  Thats the same bump that is painful when you have the offical growing pains of Osgood Slaughter.  It is bony process (Tibia Tuberosity / Ligament Patelle' anchor). It is a very solid bone area with some ligament attachments around the bump. This is why the bump is there... a better anchor point for the ligaments etc.

Those in their teens who get OSGS often wear a brace here that pushes that bump inward to releave the tension of it wanting to pull outward from the stress of growing bones and muscle/ligaments being a bit off tune with each other.

Ive been wearing mine at the "Not Here" point cause of a surgical scar that hurts like !@#@$#%^& when you press it agains the bones in the green "HERE" area or at the bump above.  I dont like it though.  I know what could happen. !!!  I plan to lower it now that I have different pads and made my on PIN's.  Maybe Sunday
180  Powerising / Problems / Re: 2 question type thingies... on: April 11, 2008, 05:11:53 AM
don't think pin makes them anymore,...
Made mine out of two dog collars and a single cat collar for each stilt.  All with plastic pop buckles like Pin's.  Got collars from the dollar store.
