once site is up and we got a few things on it--- lets send it to 'animal' the surf/street/adventure clothing peeps  they r based in poole.  telling them that this new sport  has a new local base   may in time b a useful contact ,could even lead to cheap Tees Grin

oh and 17th is good 4 me
3707  Powerising / UK / Re: UK Summer Meet. Be here or else! on: January 24, 2007, 07:56:06 PM
i seem to recall both ally and crystal place have  some topography and stuff but r both a little bit away from the centre

going back to sounds and food particularly sounds  will def need council permission and would need to know numbers .  council may want insurance and St johns

Being on the river plain  central london is ded flat  only exceptions  r street arcitecture and statues   -- and council may not like us bocking over them.

There must b some sk8 parks in london peeps must know  of.

Not terrible positive observations  but thought id chip them in

d8's  r OK with me. And I thought  uey i can finish work by 11 and work next to railway station  so would still make most of a saturday meet.

Pity there are no 'active' london bockers on the forum ( which is really rather odd  but thats another). Remember that hyde and many of the other central london parkd are 'royal' parks and its not the council you would be contacting.

Another idea is, if there is an event already taking place we could 'tack' ourselves on2? Would make organising/getting permission alot easier. Bound to be loads of sporty/ activity festivals going on and would b the right type of peeps to mix wiv

if there is a choice sundays r best 4 me --- ill prob b working every sat during the summer.  But hey ive already met up with a fair few people already so i shouldnt b too picky.   but a summer bockfest sounds good.

By the look of things mini local meets will have become common place. So there should be 2's, 3's,4's and moresomes to travel together. Not totally sure re hyde park. Its nice big open and central   but quite featureless. So not much to jump on/ovever etc.

Ive just started lerning front flip on tramp ( un week 2 on tramp so  pretty chuffed) so early days. Instructor ( i tolder her about the risers so she seems to b chucking out all the seat drop stuff out of the window -- so hint to peeps if going for tramp lessons  it will cut out bits u dont need) seems to go 4 the full long legs no tuck action.

For doing it 'real time' outdoors m looking at places with a 'drop' to give me more time/space to swing over. So the sk8 park looks good as it has spots that go from 41/2 - 2 foot drops . 1 good thing about being a postman im used to getting up early  so no probs 4 me getting there b4 any1 else so im not watched  Grin   \tho i might 'phone a friend' un tell um that if i dont phone them back in 5 min ---call an ambulance Roll Eyes.

But seriously I dont know if i will ever get there ( im 42  im not sure my body can still bend enuff quickly enuff)  but im gonna really try and im havin fun trying already.

Thanks 4 starting this thread and sharing.

I guess the flip  is the '180' of bocking  cept for us it '360'!!!!!!!!!

yeah  4got there is a sk8 park at baiter  and will turn a few heads of the people with foils and kites ( there is a big diff between the 2 and i gather kite users look down on foil users   sigh) next door.  They are the sort of people to be interested in risers --and the money/state of mind to actually buy. It has been noted that most of us have / have done or r interested in other extreme/extremely silly sports( I seem to recall Matt 1st saw risers when his climbing instructor was on some).

re pk.  Yep,  I think what is happening is as more people join, and it doesnt have to be many they suddenly notice  oo there is a guy 20 miles from me and anhother 20 behond him  we could meet. There is a guy in guilford another in slough just needs one in say reading and 1 in basingstoke and u have a group on the M3 corridor.

And dont forget Lukey and the south end mob and the east midlands peeps
3720  Powerising / Jurassic Jumpers - Dorset / Re: Jurrasic Jumpers on: January 22, 2007, 09:42:12 PM
there is a sk8 park in bmth  which is also in a park with a basket ball court/pitch  i cant rember.  if none of u can borrow  a ball ill volenteer to but 1  if u want.  its in the chav/ bad lands tho.

re logo  i gotta go visit my old work m8s v soon  un 1 of best m8s is a graphic designer  was gonna sweetly ask her if she could do somat.  if she said yes  my idea was  a green big clawed 'dino' foot on footplate un riser   kinda jumping in a dynamic way? see wot happens. OO un when is 1/2 term --- i like 1/2 terms  not so much bleedin traffic 1st thing in morning

ps  ive started an idea for another persons head of a meet in bristol in may ---4 the bockin olympics Shocked)
