ok ok like i said early discussion is pointless.
Everyone have a think about it and if you have a good suggestion for next years location then please bring it to the chatroom with some supporting evidence eg, vids or pics of people bocking in the suggested areas or just the areas without bockers.
Remember it HAS to be somewhere that we wont cause a problem and get moved on and I really think moving from place to place (within the same town) is not really an option any more.
Sorry it is an option, everythingis an opion. Some people ma like a tour round and 'looking out' rather ythan just 'looking in' onourselves.
Indoors event, Imdeff interested in. especially for a 2nd day. Powerball ( bocking basket ball) comp is apossibility. But would need groups around the country to experiment on the practicality of it. Size of teams length of games and safty then if OK training officials etc. So nice idea and to be looked into but a yes/no cant be given in short term.
dont want to be negative, but Seaside towns are a problem in the summer. THey reall are chock full of people, not just on pavements ans squares but alsositting everything we might want to jump on. Which is a great pity cos seaside towns do other somegreat sites. There isalso the additional nightmare of driving to seaside towns at weekends ( people have said 'oowe wanna come and meet upwith you JJ's in portsmouth or Bournemouth' I have tosound not rude and reply 'great but honestly dont com tillseptember').To give anidea,Bournemouth has an out of season pop of a bit under 200,000. If the sun was shinning toda it would be over 400,000 most concentrated with 100m of the sea and the best bock spots
having said that Portsmouth and Southsea does have potential. Its a far more 'expansive' place. Is there a timescale on all this discusion? I think chucking around loads of ideas is great ( and people can take ideas of each other--give creditguys hehe). But narrowing things down? Do wewant to have some sort of medium term date for semi solid ideas to be put up?
Ill be putting up a post on the JJ forum to see if others want to look into a southern bid, so will prob not post to much here for awhile.
Also, re 'Norwich or wherever isnt suitable'. Well may I suggest such notions put no 1 off. 1/ suprising outsiders can comefrom behind to win. 2/ it willcause people toreall look at their home areas and find news spots and things for themselves to do at anytime. 3/Banding together and looking at the sport in a more 'professional' way can do no harm atall. 4/ CB , whilst big, is still just 1 weekend. If ideas fora solid full weekend in say Norwich or Brum Oford or wherever are developed and published, well no reason they cant go ahead on other dates.
Also is the date set in stone?
Is there any ground in 'piggy backing' or joining another event? For instance this weekend there is a 'festival of the air' here in bournemouth. Grafting on to such an event would get them an exciting new dimension whilst getting us a publicity and management machine etc. Its not some thing to particularly aim for. But if while one does some research on local area there isa big event on some w/e in Aug would it be reasonable to make the approach?
