1006  Everything Else / Anything Else Powerisers / VERIZON COMMERCIAL NEEDS BOCKERS!! on: February 22, 2007, 09:27:03 PM
I have just been contacted by the below gentleman who is producing a Verizon commercial in the Los Angeles, USA area and is looking for a number of bockers to be in the commercial.  Please contact him immediately of you are interested as time is of the essence.  The information is as follows:

---------------------------------
Powerbockers needed for a Verizon wireless commercial.

The production company is SMUGGLER (www.smugglersite.com).  Our shoot will be taking place in Los Angeles, it'll be one day long, and could be March 2nd, 3rd, or 4th depending on scheduling.  We are holding callbacks on Friday Feb 23rd and most likely Sunday 25th for anyone that's interested to come in and meet with our Director and Producers.  We can discuss rates and dates when the time comes.  Please contact ASAP due to the rapidly approaching dates of this project.  Thanks a bunch.

From the photo it looks like some frayed cable wire sticking out, but since that is usually a solid rod I guess it is just some chewed up plastic covering we are seeing.  That being the case, you can just put a couple of winds of black electrical tape around it to mend the cover.

Since you are new to the sport, I highly recommend you visit www.PowerBockResources.com for most of what you need to know in order to get started.  But then again, maybe I'm a little bias.   Cool

Kiola, I see posts about this T-shape plastic piece, but I am not sure what people are taliking about.  Can someone please post a good photo of it?  Maybe a photo of one that is correct and one that is junk?  I'd like to use the photos in the PowerBockResources repair section if anyone can help.  Thanks.

Let me just throw in my 2 cents as an inventor, myself.  The fact that FlyJumper now has a licensing agreement with the patent holder is good news.  While manufacturers may have an incentive to cut manufacturing costs and sacrifice quality, the inventor of a product would clearly not want that to happen.  Poor product quality would quickly spread through the forums and kill sales.  A typical licensing agreement gives the patent owner the right to oversee product quality and shut down operations if he/she is not satisfied with the manufacturing end of things.  So, I wouldn't be too concerned if you see a price drop that is posted by a licensed distributor.  Chances are it is the result of a marketing tactic or a change-over in stock -- not a drop in quality.  Now, UN-licensed distributors...  that's a different story.  Just another reason to purchase from authorized sellers.  Again..  just my two cents on the subject.

He means check these two bolds behind the calf pad.  They tend to loosen and fall out.   --Bill C.

Thanks.  Hopefully, nobody ever needs to use it.  But I'm thinking that one of our members in particular might want to add it as a shortcut onto his desktop.   Wink

I just thought I'd let everyone know that there is now a medical page on the PowerBockReources website with some first aid information for dealing with injuries you may experience as a result of bocking.

XarnuSonci is right.  No one has been able to compare them one-on-one because of the market  restrictions.  Are the PoweriZer bearings quiet, Chronic?

Unless I am mistaken, isn't that a photo of Lukey, Becky and others at the bottom of this page on their website?

I'm a cartographer (map maker) and graphic artist and head the graphic arts department at a U.S. environmental services company.  I prepare the maps and engineering drawings for our technical reports, as well as large displays for meetings or courtroom trials.  I also create our marketing materials and oversee our website.  You can check out where I work at www.rouxinc.com.  I've been doing this type of work for 30 years.  Great company -- but there are days I wish I was a Roadie.

Here too, the motocross knee brace is a good protection for knees starting out in fine shape.  But you can see from the description that it does not indicate what type of medical knee injury it is good for -- because it is a sport device, not a medical device.  But before anyone with good knees goes running out to buy it for added protection, I would caution that there is a very good chance that it will not fit into the knee loop.

Donjoy is one of the top medical knee brace companies.  I have a pair of custom-fit fiberglass Donjoys that I wore after my ACLs were reconstructed.  Unfortunately, they would not fit through the knee loop due to their bulk and I had to custom make two new knee loops to accommodate them.  Your Donjoy looks like an off-the-shelf model with a covered metal side trip and straps -- which will not be as bulky and will probably fit into your loop.  You can check my set of yellow Donjoys and the knee loop I constructed here in my Tribes photo album:

These days, I use custom-fit fiberglass Air Townsend braces for my specific knee problems, and luckily they just squeeze into the knee loops without a mm to spare.

NOTE TO ALL....  My knee injuries were not a result of bocking.

Shakedaddy, are you having any surgery for your ligament?  Was it actually torn?
