Been doing this work for 31 years and I can't remember a case that actually started when it was supposed to -- and then didn't settle. Last May, I flew to Indianapolis to support some expert testimony -- only to be called down to the hotel bar that night at midnight to celebrate the case settlement that had just occured between the two sides via phone. Flew home the next morning and was sorry to leave, because it was a top of the line luxury hotel room with a 50" plazma tv on the wall.
Don't expect that at the Best Western in Massapequa Park.
EDIT: I just recieved a delivery of two t-shirts from Zazzle.com and they look great.
Nothing is definite yet. I've been involved with enough environmental litigations to know that most cases settle at the last minute or get postponed. It's just a looming possibility with tens of millions of dollars at stake. So, until something definite, I'm still planning on attending.
Once you have the optimum spring weight for your size, the rest is mostly technique. Just like pitching a fastball in baseball. Two guys with the same build throws the baseball. One guy's max is 60mph while the pro who knows how to whip his arm and shift his weight just at the right moment thows 100mph. I doubt if this is a magic spring. If just anyone could jump that high with it, guys like juhuv would be hitting the ceiling on a regular basis.
Apparently, I have these new springs in the form of 7090s. I had bought them a few months back but couldn't tell any performance difference because I hadn't old 7090s to compare. I moved up from a pair of 5070s. But, yes, they are tapered and green with a much thicker spring protection. I actually had to remove a piece in order to get the spring under the elbow bushing of the original model..
I'm in the process of passing on the information to some NYC TV news stations to add to the fun. Hopefully a few show up to film us and maybe get a reporter up on them. We'll see.
I'm sure we Americans would all love to try out a Segway, or even own one. But I, too, have only seen shopping mall security riding them -- and I live in a huge metropolitan area.
