Nothing special, I can't bend my legs too far with my current bocks and I want to sell them... I bet if I had 7 Leagues I could actually do impressive things Sad

I'm actually 140lbs and it seemed to work fine! They weren't bottoming out in my case, but I guess that's because of my inability to bend my legs so much Smiley

I don't want to start a war, but you can't run quick without bending your leg more than 90 degrees, and if I do, it hits a bar that would make anyone loose balance Tongue

It really wouldn't help, I've looked into platform boots etc, they all reduce my balance in some way. The closest thing that came to working were military boots but the time spent tieing them up was not worth it Wink

Since I do not have the time to modify the Upwings to my short stature (5'6), I must sell them and hopefully buy a different brand some other time.
I'm willing to part with them for $300 USD, + shipping (coming from Canada). This is the 60kg model.

DO NOT BUY THESE FROM ME IF YOU ARE UNDER 5'7 FEET IN HEIGHT AS THE BACK OF THE KNEE WILL HIT THE CALF PROTECTOR! (Or you have the time/equipment to modify the length of the connection pipe)

They have only been used about 10 times, so it's in excellent condition except for the "stocking" around the spring that is slightly torn and the pads are a bit worn down from boking on grass/streets. No modifications have been done. Otherwise these are very sexy looking bocks Grin

Comes in box with carrying bag, manual (very well written, suprising for a chinese manufacture) with exploded view of Upwing for those crazy modders, and those ugly pads that stick to the calf protector that everyone removes, nicely built Smiley

If you're interested please tell me in this thread. I will answer questions as best as I can.

Doc/Anyone, making it shorter doesn't LOOK like a problem, however wouldn't that change the center of balance? I'm looking to remove an inch and a bit from the main post (#10) in the diagram.

I'm trying to decide if I should modify them, or just sell them off (~400 usd?) and get a different brand that works for a shorter person Tongue

I don't think I have the option to return them, however I bet someone on the forums would be interested in them, once I modify them for the best (add spring protection, foot binding). Don't want to sell them just yet! Smiley

I have spoken to the manufacturer:
1) They agreed that the current binding is rather flimsy (for the foot) and are looking to replace it with better ones
2) They also said they want to change the cover on the spring to something rubber, similar to other companies

However, they also told me it would be hard for them to change the sizing of the back metal area, so shorter people like myself are out of luck without some custom modifications.

Forgot to mention, I have locked the tilt function, it does almost nothing, here's some nice chrome for you:

Hi all, I have lurked here for a while but I finally registered an account. I have a set of the dreaded "upwing" from Flyinglocust/PoweriZer/whatever, directly as a sample to see if I should sell them. I have no previous stilt/poweriser/gymnist experience, but I inlined for 14 years of my life so it's not that bad Cool

So here's my review, as a newbie to these neat devices. Don't worry though, I've been following events on this site and have learned a lot.

Here we see the model from the side, it has been used for a few days, so far I can walk easily, running is tricky, but not for the reasons that you think! As you can see it is VERY solid, and I don't know why people have bitched about construction, it is my first pair and putting them together was easy (as long as you have a rubber mallet handy, and some silicone grease).

Lets get some of the important things you are wondering about, out of the way first:
1. The calf velcro is very nice, as long as you don't put it on too tight it works well, no problems here
2. The foot straps really really suck. I'm used to hard bindings like on my inline skates, these are flimsy, and when attempting to jump high the back of the foot can come out and you are stuck in a really bad position  Shocked
3. The "protection" on the spring also really sucks! Just pressing the back of it on a step causes the material to rip open, guess I should invest in some rolls of electrical tape like everyone else on the board Wink

4. This is the bottom rubber after a few days of "light" usage on both hard ground and grass. Light meaning I learned how to walk, run a bit. No jumping over cars yet, but there was some in-place jumping with a tall wall, not very high though because of imbalance!

Some other interesting things:
1. The manual is surprisingly well written for a Chinese product, not many grammatical errors and it has good information including an "exploded" version of the riser, with part names.
2. The calf area can move up and down, very important, make sure you move it into a good location after getting these risers!
3. The weight of the spring is printed on the bottom of the lower connector, as well as production year.

4. Those horrible logos on the calf are removable (thank god), as well as those white "insoles" on the calf area. However there is a sticker stuck to the boot area, which is peeling already. Not really needed, plain metal looks nicer Wink

5. Here's a sticker on the other side of the lower metal bar, just for kicks:

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THIS WHOLE REVIEW, IF YOU ARE 5'6 OR SHORTER DO NOT ORDER UPWINGS!
You cannot bend your leg more than 90 degrees, and I cannot run easily because of this! Balance isn't the problem, it's that the large bar hits your thighs, I moved my pants up so you can see the exact problem here:

The bar hits the thigh and you easily loose balance Angry

So that is my review, I can answer questions later, perhaps add a video to video section.... That is all Smiley

Will do, there are a few big things that come to mind, should I create a new thread for it? In what forum?

Hi all, after years of seeing these wonderful things I have finally gotten into the action. Sadly I may have picked a dud by getting the Upwings, we will see! Cheesy
