Well, the obvious next step is to find a bigger set of stairs.  And I'd also suggest trying to bounce back up to the same height you jumped off from.  I know it's tricky with what seems to be rather stiff springs for you (I faced the same problem when I was new, which wasn't so long ago), but don't be afraid to just fall onto your springs and let them take you where they will, within reason.  People have a natural reaction to soften their impacts on the ground, which saves your joints when on foot, but limits your bocking height.  You'll notice that pro bockers have a stance very much like just standing around, even when they hit the ground.  They are relaxed and erect, and have very little motion when they hit the ground

I'd like to have worded that better, but I'm not sure how else to say it.  It's hard to describe, but practice will teach it perfectly well.

Oh, it didn't take me too long.  I have a habit of writing long-winded posts.  I'm glad I could help.

Very Nice. I think that your next steps should eather be:
1:kanga jumping those
2:finding and jumping more stairs
3:kanga jump hight training
4:spring grab

For regular jumping, to get more hight, you have to kind of go into a kneeling position in the air, then right before you are going to hit the ground, straghten out and kind of stomp.

My advice is work on your bouncing hight first, then try bouncing down the stairs rather than like a long step, then go for more strars ?

One thing that will be of use to you...

PUT SOME PADS ON!

If you balls up landing from a set of stairs you're gonna hit the ground really hard and probably hands first which'll mean a lot of pain and possibly break(s) in your wrist/arm.

At least get some wrist guards on as a minimum, really. That goes for all you!

He's right, you should get some wrist guards of one kind or another.  Wrist is the most important.  The more pads, the better, though.  Protection makes trying new things much less scary and much easier.  I think I would have learned much more slowly if I didn't know I wouldn't get hurt if I screwed up.

Maybe try going up and out from the stairs instead of just out.  You'll be coming down from a higher point like set of bigger steps. Try to bounce out of your landing and gain more height that way.

oh! one more thing.  If you get your legs together more you'll push straight down on your springs instead of on an angle and you won't lose that little bit of energy.  It'll make jumping easier too.
