They are insanely awesome!  The title says it pretty well.  I went from Poweriser 7090s to Powerskip 520s (75-95kg).  I could bottom out the Powerisers at will but it took a lot of effort.  I was actually disappointed with the Powerskips immediately because they felt so extremely soft for me that I thought the guy that sold them had lied to me about their weight class.  I can bottom them out in a few jumps without really trying.  But then my brother said that I was getting more height on them than I ever did on the Powerisers.  I still think his memory must be soft, but part of me knows that he must be right.  The difference is unbelievable.

Now I want 580s 0r 640s!  One time on 520s and I'm ready for the next class up.  They are very easy to use.  Now I think I have a contribution to bocking lore:  If you can bottom out a cheap brand, the equivalent strength from an expensive brand will feel quite soft.

And before anyone asks why I didn't just buy 580s or whatever, the 520s came off ebay with only slightly used Poweriser Advanced frames to boot for less than normal Powerskip springs.  I also didn't want to go too high because I didn't know how much easier the springs would be.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I concur that Powerskips require no protection.  Their clear shrink tubing is a few mm thick and quite tough.  They are tougher out of the box than my old ones were after three layers of gorilla tape over the protection they came with.  The tubing suffers little more than a scuff from an average wipeout.

And, uh, a little help here please.  The new bocks came with their original springs, but I'm not sure what weight class they are.  I would have to guess that they're 7090s, but I'm not sure.  They say either 18 or 81 on the ends, depending on how you hold them.  What does that mean?

Nice buy, I myself was also watching it on ebay just to see how much it ended up going for.

On PoweriSers the number on the bottom is just a batch number and doesn't have anything to do with the spring weight unlike on other stilts

Hi Frank,
Powerskip, Poweriser.... I'm a little confused about what's the subject of.
But the number on the bottom of the spring declares the weight range at powerisers. Like all the springs on the market til today are first made and then their force is messured so they're classified within the weight ranges. And that number is in fact the measuring value they get, so it does definetley declare the weight range of the springs. If there is a number on the bottom of your Skip spring I can not tell you for shure if it's the same, but should be as well, normally.
Further more a 520 is real to soft for you and a 580 should be perfect for you as long as the spring isn't softened to much. If this would be the case a 640 would be quiet to hard for you, until the spring get softened. (With other words: loosed it's force)
So all I could advise you is to put you on the ordering list for mystery, which could come out probably end of this month. But your soft PS spring you could still use to work on your technique, what would be a very good preparing for the mystery's. This seen the point, that only with a good timing one can get out the max from the turbo function of them.

I'm very happy with my Powerskip springs.  Now I want more power, but since new springs of equivalent quality would cost a great deal of money that I can't spare, I'm going to stick with my 520s and I'll get some mystery springs when I can afford it.  Besides, I can get decent height with my 520s anyway.

And the difference I was discussing between the Powerskips and Powerisers is that the equivalent Powerskip springs are much softer than Powerisers and much easier to bottom out, but the energy return is so great that I get more height anyway.  Jumping on Powerskips is so much easier that I feel safer.  The next logical step is to get mystery springs if their character is so much better.  I recall you mentioning that you feel slightly unsafe on even Powerskip springs after bocking on mysteries.  I am intrigued that such an improvement is possible, and will get a pair if I ever manage to wear out my Powerskips or if I end up with a lot of spare money around.

Well, umm, I busted my fancy new springs already.  Two or three days of heavy use, and the right one cracked and cannot be used...  That was fast.  It's hard to put my disappointment into words.  I'm going to contact Powerskip about their warranty, but things don't look good as I acquired them through Ebay and they are on Poweriser frames.

EDIT: found that they have no warranty at all on springs.  That bites.

It turns out that Powerskip springs are cheaper than I thought.  Any suggestions as to whether I should get E580s or E640s?  I could bottom out the E520s with extreme ease, and I would often bottom out one foot during the last stride before a running jump.

Oops, looked again and the price is per spring, not for a pair.  Maybe I should get 7leagues instead?  S-Rexes need a wider spring bracket, right?  What's the deal with that?

Haha Frank,
the first pair of Powerskip springs I sold, i made the same error as well. So my first customer received his skip springs, for half the price and I made a damned bad deal with it.
But Powerskip springs are exchanged for free, if they do break for manufacturer default. The point about is:If the springs are used on other frames than the skip ones, there could be lots of reasons due to bad handling of the consumer, lots of ifs and when's, so thereby you could not count on warranty exchange.
As everybody knows, I don't like the 7's for personal reasons, but I would advice you to go for 7 springs, seen they have a good price for a good quality spring, even if you wouldn't get the dynamic of a Skip spring. But seen you would go for a Mystery anyway, you could save allready good money with this, by getting springs of the upper quality.

The bocks came with a pair of new PR 7090 springs.  I'll use those for now and save up for Mystery springs, probably in the 90-110kg range.  This is really my passion and I want the best gear possible.  I intend on having a full-time job quite soon now; I'll see what I can do.
